Was able to play here during a fund raiser. It is awesome, the course is very hard but great since its used for a PGA event. The course if kept up very well. Play it if you have the chance.
Did not play golf, but did take the self-guided tour offered on the 3rd Sunday of the month. Truly enjoyed reading all the old newspaper articles about Bob Jones and talking to the pro in the pro shop. Purchased an old fashioned Coke from the 50's era Coke machine, only .25 cents. Purchased several articles and truly enjoyed the experience. Would love to return and play the course.
Went there for the golf tourney...must go. I like the privacy of not having to get in line. I like the fact that women have their own latrenes. My english is bad...I loved the food, the manager of the course is superb...
If you have the pleasure of playing thishistoriccourse please do so. Take some time to look around the locker room at the names. Look through the clubhouse and take it all in. The course is not even the best in Atlanta but you can't play those courses likely so enjoy this one.
The meal was delicious. Since I helped to organize it, I have to say, they were in a bit of an organizational mess with their wedding planner having just been let go. But the evening went beautifully after we moved all of the tables into the proper position for the dinner. The staff was very accommodating and worked hard to make up for the lack of organization prior to the event.
Great time, a must do for all golfers. Very easy course to walk, great veiwing areas. Many interactive areas.
The experience if playing here was amazing. If you know someone, ask since they are corporate memberships. The clubhouse is a history lesson of Bobby Jones and golf. Spend lots of time here. The course is amazing and the staff is over the top in the service. If you don't know, the course is involved in supporting the new high school next to the course. Not enough is said about this but it's another indication of them living their mantra, "golf with a purpose".
I was so fortunate - working in Atlanta and my bosses took me for a round at East Lake GC. We played 2 weeks before the Tour Championship. The course was in great condition. I bet you find that year round here. The caddies were good. One was a bit newer, so I still had to trust my instincts. I love the wider fairways, and the greens are quite large. But know there is still a lot of hazards with sand and water. Get fresh wet towels at the half way house. Great service in the restaurant. I wish I had my phone with me to take pictures of the locker room. I may have been the only woman that day in there. They had a locker for me. Showers handy. Just bring your comb. You have other amenities provided, like deodorant. Enjoy!
Was there for the annual tournament. They know how to put on an event. It is a beautiful venue. And the job that was done in the inner city revitalizing the neighborhood and the club is spectacular
Not much I can add to this spectacular place. The fairways are not tough and you dont lose your bal, but what gets you are the greens. The facility is impeccable and the caddies are great. I will play here again and again given the opportunity
