We have visited the winery two years in a row together with friends. It has been very nice experiences with enthusiastic guides to the wines. A very friendly atmosphere. We were lucky to taste many of them and were able to buy the ones we liked best. Beeing just a very small group of people we were surprised how we were met. A very nice experience. Highly recommended. Driving there via the old national road from Rethymno added great nature to the journey through valleys and small villages.
This is a very nice and familiar winery that we really enyoed. We can warmely recommend a visit her. The wine is reallygood!!
We had been buying 500 ml giraffes of wine with our meals and really they had been good. So we decided to seek out one of the sources ...magnifique
It was really great experience for our family. Before coming here, we were thinking it would be fantastic adventure, but, actually, it exceeded our expectations! It is necessary to point out that we never buy wine abroad cause it's difficult to pack and carry it home. But after tasting Douloufakis wines we bought 8 bottles! 4 of them were sweet wine - we have never bought it even in our country (we didnt't like it at all), but their sweet wines are really fantastic! We are so glad that we were able to meet such cheerful and warmhearted people. If we visit Crete again, we will definitely come to visit you!
We visited the winery out of season and had booked a appt for 11am, after getting lost we turned up 12.30, a quick call made by the local garage and the guide came back from heraklion to open for us, the tasting and tour were probably different to what you would get in season but we didn't care. Few bottles of wine purchased and we all enjoyed our trip out
We visited the winery with friends. The owner was very friendly, gave us a tour of the winery and we had a wine tasting for free. The wines were very good. We bought a few bottles at a very good price (no receipt, though).

We visited the winery as a couple (no other guests) and on short notice off-season, and were nevertheless met with great hospitality. Got a small tour around the winery and got to taste a range of different wines (which we bought several of in the end), accompanied by cheese and bread. Great experience of a very friendly family run winery. As others mentioned, also driving there was quite impressive. Highly recommended! But be nice and give them a heads-up, especially when traveling off-season.
If you're visiting Iraklion in Crete, do make sure to arrange a tour and tasting at Douloufakis Winery. You will have the pleasure of sampling great wines, receiving a highly interesting and informative session on the wines of Crete, as well as enjoying the warm hospitality of Nikos and Katerina Douloufakis. Totally recommended!
