I've attended the State Theatre a few times now and find each time an absolute pleasure in entertainment. The restored interior captures and holds your attention. It also is a plus to have the option to purchase alcoholic beverages for adults that want to experience a more upscale "date night"!
We went to see Bill Engvall the other night. Great performance. Going to the State Theatre is just like going to a NYC for a show, but closer and a lot less expensive. Parking is reasonable plus there are a lot of excellent restaurants nearby.
Carmen and I have seen the Nutcracker at numerous venues as that it has been a Xmas season tradition for us for many years and I can easily say that this years rendition at the State Theatre was the best. The Moscow Ballet Company rendered a version that was magical from beginning to end. And having it at the State Theatre was the perfect venue. The State Theatre is truly a must for visitors and should be a frequent stop for residents of the Lehigh Valley.
We were in Easton to see Bill Engvall for my son's birthday. I had contacted Bill's management team to ask about a possible "meet and greet" which was granted. When the staff realized it was a surprise, they were very careful about quietly giving me the necessary information and directions. The theatre is beautiful and there isn't a bad seat in the house. We thoroughly enjoyed the show and followed the directions to our post-show "meeting spot". As we waited, we admired the theatre's architecture and decor. The people who accompanied Bill were very friendly and made our brief time with him special. Although we live on the other side of the state, we definitely would consider a return visit here.
We had a girl's night out to see Mamma Mia at the State Theater. What a wonderful experience! The parking garage is nearby and inexpensive. They only charge $2 to park. It is a short walk or free trolley ride to the theater. The theater is beautiful. Sometimes old theaters have a tendency to be shabby. But from ceiling to seats this theater has been beautifully restored and maintained. We were in the second row of the balcony and we had plenty of room. The show was such a good time.We will definitely be back and will probably arrive early to enjoy the restaurants and shops nearby!
This place is a landmark. It was at one time just a movie theater. They have also had several quality concerts and shows. The experience is normally wonderful. There can be those off times but I think it is great. The seats are larger than average. The balcony just has a wonderful feel. I can only hope that thus place continues to offer the shows and atmosphere for generations to come. I have been to multiple things here over the years. Ive seen movies here, rock concerts (including Joan Jett) I have seen shows including Cesar Milan. Never had a bad experience.
I have attended many shows at the State. They have all been excellent and well worth the price. Mamma Mia being the latest. What a great show. We will continue to attend as often as we can.
We have been going to the State for more than ten years on a regular basis. We are never disappointed in the shows or the theater. There is a good selection of performances and the prices are reasonable. We have been members for over five years and I urge you to consider joining as well. Parking is plentiful and near by and local restaurants are near to allow for a really special night on the town! We usually go to 5-6 shows a year and our children and their spouses always join us for the Fab Faux!
This is our third trip to The State Theatre in Easton Pennsylvania. We live in Canada approximately 500 miles from here but we usually find a first rate concert here which we attend. The theatre has been refinished to ist grand old self and looks gorgeous. The seats are very comfortable and the acoustics are great. What else could you ask for?
Formerly a classic movie theater that has been converted into a stage for music, plays and comics. It is a nice resource in a town that desperately needs one.
