It was bloody freezing but an amazing view!! It was a half decent day with half blue skies which was excellent! The restaurant was closed by the time we finished which was a bummer but great activities it worth the time and effort
took a bus tour from Sapporo station including ride in cable car. Watched skiers practicing and great views from the top. Tour overall was about 3 hours and relaxing.
We took the ski lift up the observatory. It was snowing at minus degree and the feeling of cold but great.
If you ski or snow board, chances are you have never skied or snowboarded that breath taking slope, and will never in your whole life. So why not take the chairlift and experienced the 1972 Olympics that you didn't participate in :)Spend about an hour entirely, including at least 20 min up on the top to WoW. Grab a braver partner when you come downhill on the chairlift, as it is even more exciting than going uphill. Of course, you can the braver one if you plan to do this romantically with your girlfriend. For families, consider how you organize the ride as the chairlift allows only two at a time, rather than 6-seaters as in some ski resort. Afterall, it was originally catered for the Winter Olympics, not tonnes of tourists. This makes it even more pro.Do check the opening time a few days ahead of your trip, as mentioned above, it is for the pros and their training, not majorly for tourists. It is understandable they close it entirely to avoid over enthusiastic tourists in jeapordizing the lives of their teams in training or competition. It is every tourist's own responsibilities to check the schedule ahead of time to avoid disappointment. It is not fair at all to say this site is disappointing as in a previous review.
Loved the outlook From the snow covered hills to the views back to the city. There were a lot of people that were there looking at the views and all very bubbling with excitement.
Great views of the snow and Sapporo, as we had a lovely clear day, and the chairlift was good fun. Great to pair with the sports museum.
