we liked to visit this place until a staff member came yelling at my kids for stepping on seed he planted sometime that week. Mind you we were sitting by a lake side and could not tell there was anything there. He was so rude we never cared to go back.
This was the most fabulous setting for a wedding. How often do you get to be married in a castle? There is a moat, a draw bridge, and a suit of armor. Our guests had so much fun walking around the grounds while the photographer was taking pictures of my son and his wife and the staff was changing out the room for dining. For a relatively inexpensive wedding location, this is fabulous.
Very beautiful for an evening wedding! Torch lit paths. Very friendly staff, and great amenities partners. Staff was always close by for any questions or needs.
The castle has brought loud music, rude patrons, horrible traffic, and crime to a once quiet neighborhood. The people running the castle could care less and ignore neighbor complaints. The High Point City landfill across the street are better neighbors and they're horrible neighbors. Thanks for ruining the neighborhood.
I attended a wedding and was enchanted by not just the castle but the grounds, the lights at night and the quaint feeling. It feels like you enter another realm of sorts. The woods makes it feel more intimate, hidden from the outside world. Those engaged can go to wedding shows they have every few months, I believe. Tour the grounds and experience the atmosphere. We may renew our vows here just because it was a great fit for a private event. Loved it.
I was impressed by the environment. The wooded area that the Castle sits in. Inside was roomy with plenty of woods to look at from the inside. A wedding event or banquet, social event could fit Castle McCulloch.
This is more of an event center than a great destination. I love Castles and this one is a modest attempt at Grandeur. Scenic grounds and buildings and I'm sure they host a great party.
We went here today for my cousin's wedding and it was awesome and quaint! I love photography and this castle has multiple spots for excellent photos!!!! WHAT A HIDDEN GEM IN NORTH CAROLINA!!!
My husband and I went here for a Christmas event. The event itself was lovely with carolers, Santa and more Christmas themed attractions; however the "shopping" and "treats" that were available were high-priced in my opinion. The Castle itself we found to be really small. If you are claustrophobic I would not recommend attending.
This is an anomaly, a throwback to the past, and it is whimsical and wonderful. Great side trip for something unusual.
