This is a great ice rink and nice to see in downtown Jamestown. It's too bad that you have to sometimes pass by the homeless people congregating on the benches in front. It's a relatively new facility with modern conveniences, so it you are in the mood to skate, go for it!
Our family has spent a ton of time at this venue and love it! The hockey is fun to play or watch, especially the Ironmen games. Our daughter loves the Open Skate with friends. For those who don't have skates to use there are cheap rentals available. The best part is that while the kids are occupied my husband and I can have a bite to eat and a drink in the sports bar, even sneaking in a game on television!
Love going to this arena for the hockey games. It is kept in good shape and they are now offering concerts and other events here. Great variety!
Beautiful 2 pad ice ice rink with seating for 2200 people. Great figure skating and hockey programs. Home of the Jamestown Ironmen Junior A hockey team. Also concerts and other activities.
We were here for Special Hockey tournament. The facility is clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly. The two ice rinks are in very good condition in particular - rink A. The temperature is comfortable for an ice rink and the cafeteria and pub which which overlooks both rinks makes it super comfortable to watch games and be at a tournament.
Great place to hang out! Lots of public skate hours throughout the week for 7 dollars a person. Also, you can have lunch or dinner in Sullys Irish Pub looking out at both ice rinks. Also, there is a cafe that looks out at both rinks too. The Jamestown Ironmen which are a NAHL team play here (NAHL stands for North American Hockey League) It is a few steps down from the NHL. Some of the players on the Ironmen could actually end up in the NHL one day. If you like to play hockey too, there is lots of hours throughout the week for drop in hockey which also is 7 dollars a person. On the weekends, the Jamestown Lakers play many games too which are all age groups from about 9 years old to about 17 years old. There are national shows too like figure skating shows also. Every Friday night, there is comedy in the upstairs lounge that is great entertainment. Parking is sometimes a problem is there is a big event going on inside. Tickets for Ironmen games are usually about 8 dollars
We went to the ice rink mid-week around lunchtime and we were the only ones on the ice for most of the time (which I appreciated because I don't skate very well). We had very good sandwiches upstairs in the cafe that overlooked the two rinks and we saw that there were girls practicing figure skating on the other rink - so the place wasn't completely deserted after all. Though we only went to Jamestown for the Lucille Ball attractions, we enjoyed our visit to the ice rink very much and I would definitely go back again.
An attractive new arena right in the middle of Jamestown with an ice rink as its central attraction. It also serves as a place for a variety of community events and organizational meetings well as simply a place to come to meet others in town. As a visitor, there is not much to see, but you will be surprised by the bustle of activity that surrounds you. A building of which Jamestowners can be very proud!
I took my cousin here for ice skating. We had a blast! The rink was crowded at the time but we were still able to make room to skate. They also have hockey games, and figure skating there.
There wasn't any parking available, very frustrating! There isn't open skating very often and it isn't really visitor friendly. The lack of adequate parking is the worst part of it. There isn't anything to do there unless there is a special event going on. The arena itself is very nice.
