I had heard about the man, but didn't realize he lived quite so close to my area. He added so much to our knowledge of birds!
Even if you are not a big bird / nature fancier this is a great place to visit if only for the magnificent architecture of the building. A very peaceful location almost in the city of Jamestown. Beautiful walking trails and a museum / library profiling the work of Roger Tory Peterson. One weakness - not enough information on the man himself. They need a description of the man and his work as you enter the facility.
Beautiful job in preserving Peterson's works. Very educational, even if you are not as much as a bird enthusiast as Peterson himself you will be glad you went. Lovely atmosphere and grounds.
Absolutely gorgeous building. Original artwork. Amazing exhibits. Viewing spots and trails. If you are a birder or wildlife lover, you owe yourself a visit.
RTPI is a wonderful tribute to Mr. Peterson. The facility is gorgeous and birds abound. The collection of paintings and books are wonderful.
Nice and peaceful hiking through woods and to a neat pond. Building also has educational displays and information.
Jamestown may be a small place, but it is the birthplace of Roger Tory Peterson, the naturalist. It is great that such a small place has a natural park with a center for kids to learn about wildlife and plants. It is also great for people wanting to teach their kids about nature, as there are trails to walk on.
The Art work is highly rated!!! The walk is beautiful and very easy for any one to enjoy. It is safe for everyone!
If you have a Field Guide to the Birds, or any other Field Guide, you know of Roger Tory PetersonRoger Tory Peterson grew up in Jamestown, roaming the fields and woods not far from here. Much of his works is being housed in the extensive library, along with changing exhibits and gift shop.
