This amazing couple made their dream come true building this successful winery and the setting is beyond beautiful. Must taste and see!
After an enjoyable tasting experience we bought two bottles of wine and opened one to drink beside the creek that runs through the property. It was a gorgeous setting and fun time!
Great tasting (Free on weekdays!). After the tasting, we picked our favorite to sip over a picnic lunch. The view from the outdoor "patio" is really lovely. We were so relaxed. I'd recommend this venue for a bridal shower, lunch, or picnic. The wine is really an added bonus, with many different varieties. Beautiful spot right outside of Abingdon!
First stop on my winery tour of southwestern Virginia. Located down a back country road, a few miles off I-81. The setting is absolutely beautiful sitting on a small hill with the vineyard behind it. The property is very shady with old buildings , a small creek running in front of the winery into the river which runs beside the winery. They have a patio off the tasting room with picnic tables and benches set around the property overlooking the creek and river. This is a small family run business with the brother in law of the owners as your tasting director. The wines are tasty with a wide variety of whites and reds with a few blushes. They offer tastings and then will sell you a glass or bottle to enjoy on the property or a number of bottles to take home. Highly recommend a quick trip off the interstate to stretch your legs, enjoy some good wine and beautiful scenery.
For a $5 tasting fee you can sample wines and donate to charity at the same time. The owner was very helpful in guiding me based on the sweetness and other qualities of the wine. Creekside Blush is a sweet favorite. Beautiful winery and grounds just a little ways off the Creeper Trial.
We were on vacation and ordered the last bottle of Bare Chardonnay from a Damascus restaurant. It was a pleasant break from the oaked Chardonnays we've had before and so we decided to swing by the winery to get more. What a treat! The grounds are lovely with lots of green grass and shady spots hosting a few picnic tables. There is also a patio with a couple more picnic tables. Bring your crackers and cheese, get some wine, and you'll have a wonderful afternoon winding down from whatever stresses you need to leave behind. Inside is a tasting area with a very helpful sommelier. There are many gift items across a wide price range if you're thinking about wine lovers that unfortunately are toiling away in reality. We enjoyed the Bare Chardonnay and the white Pinot Noir. Yummy stuff.
We went on a Friday afternoon. You get to pick six wines out to sample. The place is a hidden gem back in the bottom of the mountain with a mountain stream and waterfall flowing outside on the grounds. Benches to sit on and meditate or just look at scenery. We purchased several bottles of wine and enjoyed the people at winery. All were very social and knowledgeable of their wines. Will go back again when in that area. Warning follow the signs literally to get there as the roads are under construction and you can take wrong turns. Complicated but well worth the trip.
Neat place - scenic, right in the mountains, next to a stream and running river. Wonderful shop! Great wine tasting....bought a 6 different types from white to red! Bring a picnic and enjoy the scenery and tranquil atmosphere. Wonderful place to sit outside and hear the running water, sip on a bottle of wine and snack on something you bring or buy inside. We'll be back in the fall!
Friendly people, great wines and beautifull setting along the river. Nice place to try some wines in the tasting room.
So im 18 and my parents were tasting wine so me and my friend asked for the wifi password and the owner said "I wont give it to you" with a very bad attitude. But my parents say the wine was good.
