我听说这里最近修缮不少,所以也许会再来吧。我去了楼下一个很棒的展览。不过,我们需要更多值得再来的理由。
这天的出游挺愉快,靠近市中心,停车是个问题,不过市里面有很多高层停车场。
I really believe this is the best gallery in Australia. Their Australian collection is unsurpassed.......some simply magnificent pieces...a must do
We had a lot to fit in on our day in Adelaide so limited ourselves to one gallery and saw the collection by Australian artists. Highly recommended. We visited the cafe - modern and airy; sat outside on the lovely terrace and enjoyed good coffee and cake. We'll stocked gallery shop where we bought gifts. We'll worth a visit.
Moots the paintings do not really cut it for me. The Tom Roberts painting, 'The Breakaway' is why I gave this gallery 3 stars. Really that painting alone is worth 5 stars. Really, what is with the gallery where for 30 minutes all people do is walk towards the camera. Thats not art. It is however, boring, and shows you how the people in these galleries get so carried away with themselves that they are willing to purchase absolute rubbish. I know there will be lots and lots of people that will analyse that and say that it was the most amazing thing they have seen. Really??? Its two people walkng towards a camera for 30 minutes. A high school student could have thought of better.
I recently went to see the Fashion Icons exhibition and although it was a relatively small show there were some fabulous items on display. The gallery is comparatively a small one but it has enough on display and a program to keep all art lovers happy. Next to the Museum and Adelaide University - across the road from David Jones store and Rundle Mall so easily accessible. Enjoy
Great afternoon filler, some nice Australian works, also French Impressionists, including a very nice Pissaro. Not a huge gallery, easy to get around. A few more chairs or benches for the public to sit and just look at certain pieces would be welcome. Also enjoyed the fine china, and the lovely painting of Circe by Waterhouse. Not so keen on the dead horses or whatever, which I thought were not at all nice, or artistic. But then, one mans dead animal is another mans artwork. To each his own,
The building is stunning, it's free, the staff are friendly and engaging. They intersperse modern sculpture with older paintings. I'd like to see more contemporary art but that's just a personal preference.
We go to art gallery quite often , this time we saw the Icons of Fashion garment exhibition . Something very different , we both enjoyed it immensely , then did another stroll thru out the gallery.
