This is a wonderful place to go for a walk. It can be deserted and quiet sometimes so I bring my four legged friend along. You can find a few Saskatoon bushes along the way. A little rugged in places. Nice as it cuts down the bike traffic.
I loved the scenic walk with wife & friend. Beautiful streams and mini bridges. Great for winter photography.
This is a great place to go for a stroll in the summer. The scenery is surprisingly beautiful for being so close to the core of Edmonton.
My dogs enjoy this walk! You have the creek flowing through and the trees drown out the traffic. My daughter calls this "the forest". And you feel like your out in the country walking through here. Other dog owners are very friendly and always say hello. Which is nice!
Found this park in the ravine below a bridge in the middle of the craziness that is Edmonton. The day was +30 this outdoor pool was a welcome diversion with family rates of 20.00 for 6 this was an affordable diversion on a beautiful day. After the swim there were FREE nature trails to walk and small snacks, drinks, and treats available.
It is a lovely natural area right in the city. Beautiful place to walk or bike. What a gem right in the heart of an urban setting.
So many trails, gravel and asphalt, leading all over. Sheltered by trees when its hot and sunny in the winter, I swear there is a microclimate in the ravine that makes it always good for a run. I recommend it to everyone!
There are so many natural areas and parks in the city that its hard to rate any one above the others. I've been on many organized walks through the many parks and wilderness areas in the city through Meetup.com groups and Mill Creek is probably my favourite but only because of the funky coffee shops and restaurants that we stopped at around 82nd Ave.
Mill creek ravine is great for a little nature in the city. It is centrally located and easy to access. Both the south and north sides of the park (of whyte ave) offer a variety of paths both paved and trail. Watch for dogs off leash in non-off leash areas.
We visited the park for a winter festival and found it quite attractive and pleasant despite some very cold weather. There are excellent, safe walking trails and good parking near the Millcreek outdoor pool (which during the summer is an excellent place for children to swim and cool off). You can find lots of birds and other wildlife particularly at twilight.
