A wonderfully maintained course located in the deserts of El Paso. Wonderful staff that makes your golfing experience worth the extra costs. There are less expensive courses in the area but none as well kept as this course. Challenging with impeccable greens. And if nothing else, enjoy the very good food at the clubhouse!
Play this course once, and can't wait to play again. First, you are greeted at you car by the staff. Clubhouse very well stocked. Driving range with unlimited balls, Water bottles at just about every other hole. It's in the desert but is well tended to. As i approached the 17th tee, the irrigation water turned on. The staff saw me about to tee off and shut the water off until I was done. When I was done, staff cleaned my clubs and gave me a cold cloth. Definately needed after playing in upper ninety degree weather. Added bonus, the staff gave me the senior discount. Didn't notice until I got home and looked at the reciept. No, I didn't qualify. Hope to go again soon.
This daily fee course in best course in all of El Paso. This course is only a few years old, but is fully grown in and in great shape. Excellent Pro Shop and large very good dining area. The Fazio design is great and fun to play, with several tee boxes on every hole, so if it's not tough enough for you just move back a couple of tees and you can have more than you bargined for. Whenever I'm in El Paso I always play this course.
Very good food, nice views! Nice daily specials. You need to give yourself some time though, not the fastest.
This is what golfing uses to be! Country club amenities and atmosphere without the monthly dues. Incredible driving range and chipping area.
Challenging layout. Stay in the fairway, otherwise it is a much tougher outing, LOL. The xmas buffet was excellent. The only thing that could be improved is the # of cart girls working during the week. Free water on course
I played there twice at the beginning of July. They can't control the heat but everything else was first rate, friendly and accommodating staff, a well stocked pro shop, a very nice practice facility, a spot on and knowledgeable starter, excellent course conditions from tee to green, friendly beverage cart and bar and grill service (in fact show up early for breakfast/lunch/dinner, the salsa was killer). It's desert golf (ergo the 4 for sights) so try to keep it on the short grass. Interesting mix of holes and the course blends into the terrain; it does not look contrived. This course will not disappoint.
Very good course. Actually looks more difficult than it is off the tee, but there are good bailout areas on most fairways. They also take care of the little things like free water, range balls and usually beer specials after the round. Great place to play in El Paso!
The staff is terriffic and the hospitality is great. This is a beautiful course but the many waste bunkers with high lips make this a tough course for average golfers. That being said--I will return and be humbled again!
I have not only played but taken lessons at Butterfield. They greet you at the bag drop and set up your cart. The course in maintained by a dedicated, knowledgeable and courteous staff. The club staff and instructors are excellent. If you live or visit El Paso and play golf, visit Butterfield.
