Lots to learn about the Cape Range national park. Gives a good context for our visit to Yardie Gorge. Liked the eco building too.
Disliked the toilets still being under repair since April flooding (although not the fault of the centre). Staff were very friendly and informative.
Very informative to prepare you for the cape range national park. You can hire snorkelling gear at a very reasonable price as well.
Milyering is the only place to go for information in Cape Range National Park. The staff is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable.
Much of the Cape Range Park is closed due to the floods of 27th April.Yardie Creek Rd is open as far as Yardie Creek but I did read an update on 5th May that that road was now closed again after the Tantabiddi boat ramp. There is damage to the road after the boat ramp turn off. Many side tracks to beaches are also closed. Most Park walking tracks are also closed as are many caravan/camping grounds. Lighthouse camping is open.Turquoise Bay is accessible, but the water is fairly cloudy. Snorkelling is still good. The access road to the visitors centre at Milyering is washed out and the centre is closed.
Advertises as closes at 3.45 - but visiting at 3.20 - told we had 10 minutes time only as they had to cash up. Given that there were 3 or 4 staff, and no other visitors we found the attitude unhelpful.
we called in here and were initially the only people to go in; the 2 ladies behind the shop counter gave no greeting, no information and when I wanted to watch the interactive movie about the reef, she came to click the start button and walked off - unfriendly and needs to find another job that does not involve dealing with tourists; the actual displays were excellent, and I purchased several things from the shop, and as other tourists arrived neither of the ladies were in any way friendly or helpful to anyone
They were a great help giving info about the Reserve and where best to .snorkell. The displays were very informative about the area
Very informative- friendly staff who provided excellent information. Great display of the whale sharks, mantra rays and other life that inhabit the local waters. A must stop visit.
standing display of the marine life in the area plus daily information on weather, tides and the best places to visit. staff are very knowledgeable and the merchandise is good. snorkelling equipment can e hired here. the car par has a range of wild flowers including sturt's desert pea, and the adjacent post houses an osprey nest in spring
