Chi abita in Svizzera sa, che l'esercito ha scavato a fondo le montagne. Entrare a vedere una fortificazione dà un'idea di che cosa ciò significhi, da un punto di vista di opera e progettazione (pensando che sono state costruite con in tempi con tecniche molto differenti da quelle odierne ad esempio). Inoltre, vedendo questi luoghi, e sentendo le spiegazioni, si pensa a come hanno dovuto vivere l'esperienza i militi che hanno prestato servizio, anche fuori dal periodo di conflitto.Il museo interno, inoltre, è molto interessante ed offre alcuni stimoli di riflessione sull'approvvigionamento energetico.

Pomeriggio uggioso ideale per visitare il museo Sasso S.Gottardo,ne siamo usciti piacevolmente sorpresi e contenti di ciò che abbiamo visto. Bellissimo lo spazio tematico con audio guida (voce di Filippo Lombardi) dove il passato tiene per mano il nostro presente con la tematica energia: immagini proiettate sulla nuda roccia, prima di cavalli e carrozze del passato e poi di treni e traffico verso il nostro frenetico e veloce presente, un ghiacciaio in miniatura che parla del discioglimento dei ghiacci a causa del riscaldamento globale, una goccia che rappresenta le quattro sorgenti del massiccio del Gottardo, energie rinnovabili per dare speranza alle future generazioni...Consigliamo volentieri!

В детстве читал книги про Суворова, переход через Альпы. С тах пор в памяти остались слова: перевал Сент-Готтард, Чертов мост...советский ребенок не мог и мечтать, что увидит все эти места. При этом в поездках в трудных высокогорных местах часто говорил "Ну, перевал Сент-Готтард какой-то". И вот, в этом году, совершая запланированную и подготовленную поездку из Милана в Беллинзону (превосходный город и замки!) вдруг на трассе виже указатель "St. Gottard, 70 km". Те самые Суворовские места из детства и так близко??? Мгновенное решение - ехать после Беллинзоны! Наспех что-то поискали в сети, куда ехать, что и как найти. Как назло Wi-Fi работал плохо и почитать получилось сущие крохи. Я еще что-то смутно помнил про туннель Сент-Готтард, что там периодически возникают дикие пробки и пр. А это все происходило в пятницу днем. Все равно решили ехать, 70 км не страшно и просто так проехать, если что. Дорога - просто дух захватывает, вокруг горы, водопады, красота! Страшно люблю Швейцарию именно за такие пейзажи. Стали часто попадаться туннели разной протяженности и уже где-то на подъезде к St. Gottard встали в первую пробку перед одним из туннелей, слава Богу стояли недолго. Поехали дальше и вскоре увидели хвост уже серьезной пробки непосредственно перед Сент-Готтардским туннелем (он довольно старый, 18 км длины, скорость ограничена, поток машин большой, много фур). Сердцем почувствовали, что нам надо съезжать с трассы на объездную дорогу через горы. И это оказалось правильно. Дорога запетляла вверх, наша прокатная машинка крутые подъемы штурмовала с трудом на 2 скорости. Вокруг захватывающие дух виды, смотровые площадки, близкие горы со снежными вершинами, останавливались несколько раз и делали фото. Увидели указатели и поняли уже точно, что едем правильно. Доехали до уровня 2100 метров и там собственно и была искомая точка. Памятник Суворову. Место очень необычное, просто не хватает слов, чтобы описать. Вокруг каменистые голые горы, небольшое озеро, гостиница, что-то типа информационного центра, ветрено, прохладно. Много байкеров, полно машин на стоянках из разных стран. Походили вокруг, поднялись к самому памятнику (он стоит на небольшом холме). Попробовали спросить насчет Чертова моста, но никто ничего объяснить не мог. В итоге получили все незапланированные и потому особые удовольствия сполна и поехали вниз по пути к Лугано, следующей точке маршрута.

Was expecting a quick call when we stumbled across this on a road trip. It has only been open a few months, hence the reason why I, a seasoned Swiss resident had not heard of it.Entering a cold dark tunnel for 100m before rounding a bend and finding the ticket desk partly captures the unweary for what appears quite an expensive fee for a 'normal' Swiss attraction of 25chf per adult.We took the plunge...and we're pleased we did. Over 2km of underground tunnels leading to gun emplacements, living quarters and a very techno exhibition. They certainly spent some money here. The guns are kept fully serviceable too. Only the Swiss!Well worth a visit but tip of the trip... If possible do the gun part first and exhibition second, for most of you it would work best this way round. We discovered by luck as we were stuck a coach load of people heading into the exhibition so asked if we could do the guns first they let us. It was the best choice.Note, it is cold and wet in much one the complex so tee shirt and shorts is not a recommendation even in summer (mind you it is closed in winter anyway).

Tutto nella montagna, con il sudore della fronte, con pala e piccone, chi lo visita abbia cura di coprirsi con felpa perché un po' fresco e umido , ma ne vale veramente la pena

Dopo anni anche le riforme dell'esercito hanno raggiunto il San Gottardo.Questo ha potuto dare al pubblico una visione di quello che era il forte al Sasso e com'era organizzato.Se poi si pensa ha che lo ha costruito il giro nelle gallerie è ancora più entusiasmante.Sia per gli amanti dell'esercito o no una visita in questo reperto storico è consigliato e ancora dopo anni ,si possono osservare che anche nei tempi passati si lavorava bene, magari anche meglio!Naturalmente per chi vuole approfondire l'organizzazione militare di un tempo consiglio pure di fare una visita anche al Forte Mondascia di Biasca.

Al piano terreno c'è una mostra "moderna" a diversi temi. Molto psrticolare ed unica. Prendendo una specie di funicolare si sale e si può visitare una vera fortificazione di artiglieria nel cuore delle Alpi, nel così detto Ridotto nazionale

v.a. Die Seilbahn im inneren des Berges und die endlos langen Stollen. Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Neben der militärischen Anlage gibts noch einen Ausstellung mit Installationen zum Thema Energie und einen Raum mit riesigen Bergkristallen.

This place has been kept as a secret for a long long time and has been transformed into a museum just 3 years ago. We have combined the visit with a trip to Bellizona which is only 1hr drive in the afternoon. This is a perfect combination. You need at least 2hrs or more to see the exhibition, 3hr would be better. There is some walking to do here, through all those long long tunnels which connects different rooms in the olden days. The various exhibitions with multi-media presentation is well done but you need a lot of time to hear the commentaries and see some of the video presentations. I would advice you to do the train part first where you will visit the living quarters of the soldiers and officers, the ammunition rooms, the old canons. There is also a tunnel which leads you outside where you can see the slit of the canon sticking out admist a great view of the mountains. The 2hr went by so fast. I wish we had more time. Wear something warm and you need steady shoe work, since the tunnels are a bit wet and the temperature on that day was around 11 degree. Anyway the visit is very interesting. I don't find the entrance fee exorbitant. Any art museum in Switzerland will charge Fr.20 to Fr.25 for a visit.
