We visited here with TeKing Tours - it is absolutely beautiful. I would also highly recommend TeKing Tours - as you walk across the sandbank onto the island, it is very special.
We took the Aitutaki Adventures trip with Puna our skipper, great snorkelling spots, even better lunch waiting for us on the island! And of course Puna's homemade lemonade, super tasty :))
Tapuaeta'i, or One Foot Island, was apparently named after an old legend where a Cook Islander and his son were trying to escape from their enemies. Supposedly, the father followed in his son's footsteps to hide their numbers.Make sure to take your passport and you'll be able to get one of the most unique, memorable passport stamps that you'll ever come across! The waters were calm, sheltered, warm, clear as could be and absolutely stunning. Take lots of photos!
Nobody there except the birds, water colours are wonderful, snorkelling so good too ..a must to see ..you must go visit whilst there.
We came here as part of a day cruise. You can have your passport stamped and post mail from here, which is the main attraction. There are some snorkelling spots here, so make sure you check out the giant clams about 10m out from the shore. Ok for spending an hour or two, but there's not much else here.
We went there as part of a snorkeling tour. A few of the locals go there for family picnics. They were all friendly and happy to show off the fish they caught earlier in the day for their barbeque.
How fantastic that for a small fee of $2 you get your passport stamped for visiting One Foot Island. A lovely island with lots to look at.
