The Boldt Yacht House is lovely and Wellesley Island is a nice drive around. diane B, London, On , Can
This is worth your time in NNY... you will go back in time and hear the history of boldt castle amazing and sad. The rooms are beautiful. It is hard to imagine living in that era, building this magnificent castle minus the tools we have today. You will enjoy the boat tour and seeing how the other half lives.
A magnificent structure and display of some of the yachts used in the day. It's a house for boats bigger than some hotels today. Very well preserved.
Don't miss out on this added perk! Wonderful collection of antique boats and interesting trip into the past. Pack your camera!
This is WELL worth the time and trip! The work that has occurred after 75 years of abandondment is REMARKABLE. You can see work in progress which is interesting also. MAKE SURE TO BUY THE COMBO TICKET WHICH INCLUDES THE BOATHOUSE!!
pack a lunch, drinks and your camera, then take the ferry across to the Castle. The grounds are lovely, the castle nice to explore. This is a great way to spend the day. We took two 3 yr olds and 2 2 yr olds and had so much fun!
The staff was wonderful in explaining boats, area, and history. They were more than willing to talk to you even though the tour was self-guided
was surprised how nice the boathouse is- I originally saw this place on TV and U can see how the rich arrived to the island- lots of money spent to entice them- must see
Absolutely exquisite! Do not miss the chance to visit, after visiting Boldt Castle! In my opinion, it's worth the added charge as I adore the architecture! The vintage boats on display are lovely, and perfect if time is an issue. We planned to visit the antique boat museum a half hour away, but didn't want to rush the day.
The antique boats were fascinating. The Yacht House is on a separate island from the Castle on Heart Island, which requires a short boat excursion.
