To get in the halloween spirit we went to see Young Frankenstein at Lyric Arts Theater and it was fabulous and funny and cleverly put together. Such a quirky play could never be pulled off, I thought but it was done with such grace and the actors were top notch! Wr will be buying season passes for other plays. Such top quality for a low price!
We went to see GodSpell just a few weeks ago and it was a fantastic performance. I was thoroughly impressed with the local talent - just as good or better than a few productions we saw at the Orpheum downtown last year. And the tickets are cheap! Making it an even better night out, there is not a bad seat in the entire theater.
In the last year, I've seen three different plays at Lyric Arts and thoroughly enjoyed them. The actors and musicians are very talented, and the direction tight and spot on. I really appreciate having Lyric Arts in "my backyard" -- no driving into the cities and having to deal with paid parking and traffic. :)
We were in Minneapolis looking for a play to do something different. All the big players had no shows the weekend we were there. WE found Lyric Arts and took the chance. The show was amazing, everything is right in front of you and it is easy to follow and see the performers do even their subtle moves. I dont think there are to many bad seats in this location because it is so small and intimate.
This theater is darling and has some great plays, there is a lot of local talent. Sometimes they have plays that are just for kids which are so much fun. The adult Musicals and plays are also great.
We have been to Lyric Arts many times through out the years. They have always been quality plays and I have never been disappointed in the acting and stage sets. I have been to many other theaters and I would rate them right up there with any of them. I know that a lot of theaters have more money for better stage sets but I'm their for the quality of the play itself and the acting. I will continue to come to the Lyric Arts Main Street Stage as long as I live in MN.
I saw the preview for Hairspray. This is the second play that I have seen at Lyric Arts, and I was surprised at how good the cast was. This show should be successful.
went this Christmas for the first time , I will definitely be returning ...not a bad seat in the house !
Have been attending Lyric Arts productions since it's earliest of days! Quaint theatre setting and wonderful performances! Popcorn is the best!
We attended a Johnny Cash Tribute show at this wonderful local venue. Our seating was excellent and the acoustics were very good. The seats are comfortable and you are very close to the stage no matter what seats you purchase. Why pay "downtown" prices when you can go to the Lyric Arts?
