Bustling with restaurants, this small "main street" is full of life at just about all hours. It is filled with excellent small restaurants that give the street great character.
Lark Street is Lark Street! Just about whatever you want can be found in this funky part of Albany. The outdoor patio in the midst of downtown is great for meeting friends or just meeting people.
This is the street where you will find the few local shops In albany. Cafés can be found here, bars, restaurants, and some art galleries. Be sure to check out the streets around it as they are filled with beautiful and historic row homes.
Lark Street is a nice collection of restaurants and bars with something for almost everyone. A stroll of 5 blocks or so will give you plenty of choices. I'd say the Wine Bar and Bistro is easily the best of them. There are several pizza places including Noho, which is pretty good, and Soho which isn't. Beware of confusion.
Lark Street is a very cool place to look around and people watch. There are shops, bars and restaurants for everyone.
Not sure why it's such a big attraction. I think it tries to emulate a New York City neighborhood but falls short. Drunks all over the place. Don't bother with Larkfest unless you like to feel like a sardine while baking in the hot sun without anywhere to go for relief. There isn't anywhere to park even on a normal day of the week. There are so many other places to go to in Albany.
My daughter and I were visiting Albany from overseas and met up with a few family members to tour areas where our families had lived and worked. We spent a lovely afternoon walking along Lark Street, looking at the shops and the church where my in laws were married. There was an exceptionally nice little shop that we stopped to visit called Elissa Halloran Designs. I didn't have enough time to spend there, so am looking forward to returning next year with my husband for another look!
Honestly, in Albany there is not much to do. Wandering around the Lark Street would be one of the few alternatives. There are many local shops and a few cafes to hang around. I especially appreciate a wine shop of which I forgot the name.
Great addition to Lark St. An Asian Italian Fusion Restaurant that serves food late and has a full bar! Welcome to the neighborhood and good luck!! We need you guys on Lark St. Suggestion.......Crab Rangoon pizza? Can't get it anywhere else in the capital district and it's one of the best pizza I've ever had. Kudos to the chefs.
A fun and interesting place to walk with lots to see and do. There are many shops bars and lots of different restaurants. A cute street.
