We went here instead of Dunns River, we pretty much had the place to ourselves, a great tour guide showed us the grounds and birds. There is a small museum about Jamaican history which was perfect. The falls were beautiful, you could walk down and up a stair case on the side and get wet
If you want to see beautiful flowers and vegetation - this is the place!! We had a private tour of the grounds - our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the plants - and they are beautifully kept. There is a gorgeous waterfall, peaceful koi ponds - the fish come right up to you. It's also a lovely spot to get married. Birds such as peacocks, minahs, parakeets, turkeys - I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.
This attraction is a new place to visit. When we were there they had just reopened. It used to be called Shaw Park. They have rebuilt it. It is full of beautiful gardens, and the waterfall is fantastic. Although I wasn't able to get there, they tell me the outlook over Ocho Rios was great as well. It is a guided tour, where the guide is very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. There is a small museum as well. Parrots, that like to put on a real show, of their own accord, and peacocks that seem lto like to stare you down. lol. They hold weddings there, and if your looking for a place that is close to nature and all it's beauty, this would be the place to go.It was a very nice, quiet interlude for an afternoon. It is not well advertised as yet, but you can find it on the internet. It's well worht the time to go.
Mark Tours drove us to this place. The tour guide was great and gave a lot of information! This place was beautiful!
Ocho Rios boasts a number of lovely scenic treasures but Konoko falls has some very special spots and would make the perfect destination for an afternoon out with the family, a destination garden wedding or anything in between. The sense of tranquility there is awesome. You can't help but feel at ease as you walk through the gardens and enjoy the babbling brooke and of course the falls.
Andre was our guide at the top of the falls. He was well versed in the history of Jamaica and walked us through the very interesting museum, pointing out the highlights. Then he took us to the birdcage full of budgies (or parakeets) where the multicolored little birds nibbled on our rubber shoes and ate out of our hands, and nipped a toe or two lolAndre's tour of the botanical gardens was again very knowledgable and professional. The flora and fauna were beautiful. Climbing the fabulous Falls with Kenroy made us feel very safe and we all enjoyed it immensely!! We climbed at a good pace and thankfully were not forced to hold hands with each other (like at the other well known, crowded falls). Kenroy was right there if we wanted a hand and to point out any missteps. Our new fave falls oasis in Ocho Rios.
See my review on Koyaba. Well worth a visit especially for people who don't like overly commercial sites as it has more to offer than Dunns River Falls without the crowds
Just beautiful ! Our guide was great, his knowledge and passion about the park made the trip unforgettable. Highly recommended trip to get away from the tourist crowds.
Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, amazing views!! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Be prepared to do a lot of walking and climbing a lot of stairs if you want to see everything.
Our group enjoyed a few hours touring the grounds and seeing the gardens and falls. There is a small museum and nice gift shop and a bar and restaurant were being set up during our tour. This is less commercial but as beautiful as Dunn's River Falls. The view was superb. The tour guide was knowlegeable and funny, and our group certainly had a great time. I would recommend it.
