Excellent service, nice wine selection, interesting breakfast options. Worth a visit just to view the beautifully maintained building which reflects a bygone era.
来到这里以后你会禁不住发出“哇”的感叹。我更倾向于在这里喝东西,而不是吃饭或者过夜,因为这里最有意思的是呆在大厅和烧烤吧。绝对值得一来。
I've been coming to the Driskill for years with friends. It's a great place for a girls weekend away. I felt like I was at an exotic resort. The location is convenient to 6th street and shopping. Upstairs there is western decor that makes you feel like you have arrived in Texas with style. We relaxed in the cowhide couches to talk. Many times there are live bands to listen to.
If you ever get to taste their tartar with wasabi appetizer at their restaurant you'll be sold. The steaks are great, too. Expensive? Yes. Their menu is a composition of well executed classic dishes (sometimes with a twist). Impeccable service, coupled with high end food and excellent wine selection. Despite being local, we try to make one down-town week-end without kids at the Driskill once a year. So far it's always been special to us. And we'll return again. I would try to avoid the busy week-ends in Austin to experience the excellent service the Driskill is able to provide. A classy get-away with an Austin tradition, right in the middle of safe down town with lots of bars and venues in walking distance. 6th street is blocked off from traffic Fri-Sun nights to enable the easy bar hopping stroll.
Stopped at the Driskill while on a tour. Took a few group shots inside on the staircase. Price of hotel rooms is reasonable.
We had never been to the area. The Driskill was exquisite. Great happy hour....Loved the popcorn--Brilliant! Piano player was okay...but you have live music everywhere, so no big deal.We are going back to stay in a month at the Driskill because I loved it so much!
The cocktail lounge is a wonderful way to spend happy hour. Have a picture taken with a longhorn (stuffed mind you ).
We wanted to check out the Driskill Hotel and Bar, so we meandered through the place. Nice western decor and furniture. We were hoping to have a couple of drinks, but there was no seating available, so we took a couple of pics & left!
Walking in we were taken back the the beautiful design of this ornate historic hotel. We had just missed happy hour on this Friday night. From the look of it, happy hour is key. There was a live band playing and seating spread out on cowhide couches and comfortable chairs. It took us sometime to have a waitress approach our table, even more time to get the cocktails we ordered. It was rather high priced for the 3 cocktails (one non-alcoholic for a child) and popcorn. We paid about 50.00.
