I visit the preserve to clear my head, and surround myself with beauty. I am there frequently, and have been a regular guest for years. Please support their campaign for a new facility.
This is a great place if the weather is sunny and cool. It is peaceful and very pretty. We like the fall or springtime the best.
The trail system is very nice with multiple choices. There is little elevation change and trails are marked well. The preserve is cared for very well. No experience with their events (snowshoeing, maple syrup making, many other activities) but they have always sounded interesting.
A fantastic asset to the Fox Valley--many trails and plenty of wildlife--many ponds teeming with frogs and fish--turtles all over the area--happy birds sing to you--bring a camera and bug spray--staff is very helpful--great lodge--close to all of the valley--plenty of parking
If you are looking for a pristine, clean forest that is groomed and maintained, this is not it. There are trees down and long grass and some swampy areas. And it is incredibly beautiful. The are reasonable well maintained paths that that you all over. There are many animals and birds to be seen, but it isn't the zoo, so it is hit or miss. The trees provide lots of shaded area, so those may be wet to walk around, but there is sun in the clearings. For you geocachers, there are even a few of those in here as well.
When you are from out of town you do not know what to expect, this nature center was awesome, love my nature walk.Trails well marked, easy to walk. I was surprise by the beauty of this nature center. I was only going to spend 30 minutes there two Hours later I was still there.
had great time snow shoeing this winter ( they rent the shoes) , also cross country sking aon easy to follow trails. last year went for sugar mapling ( alot of fun an a little gooey) .Is just a great place to walk, hike, and spend time with nature.
Nicely kept and well marked hiking trails, snow shoe rentals too.. Cross country skiing only a few minutes from anywhere in Appleton.. Great deal..
Bubholz is wonderful if you're in the mood to go on a long walk. THe trails are extensive and wind through fields and forests. Not a great spot for a quick trip; you really need to have at least an hour to ramble around.
Beautiful and quiet. Has an extensive network of well maintained trails. Lots of birds. Little gazebos scattered here and there provide shelter when the sky opens up as it so often does in Wisconsin.
