A small lake, can picnic, nice and clean, great family place. Restrooms available, close to town, easy to get to.
What a beautiful and relaxing place to spend some time. Perfect for taking kids fishing or riding a stand up paddle board. Children's play area, stocked trout, and a workout area.
We drove here for a look. The lake was frozen over and made for some lovely pics. The logging museum is here too
It's really worth taking the time to spend a few hours at the lake. kids love the logging museum and learning about the history of this scenic little niche in the Sierras. A good place to sketch and paint, White Pines is more like a neighborhood lake where you can chat with passers by, and appreciate some of the old time history of this former logging town. My comments presume that you have already visited Calaveras Big Trees, and some of the more scenic wonders further up Hwy 4. No matter where you walk in any areas of the forest around here…along creeksides, lake shores, or simple mountain paths, if you look carefully something wonderful will catch your eye. Take your time and enjoy nature here.
Beautiful place, but Getting a parking place was a nightmare in July. And you really have to feel very social because everyone and their brother is there, and many of them have had a lot to drink.
Beautiful little lake with picnic tables and playground near by. It is near the Arnold Rim Trail and the Logging Museum.
Lovely lakeside park, nice picnic facilities, clean restrooms. Lake access. Near the Logging Museum, which is a great destination with exhibits for the whole family.
We didn't find this lake as pretty as others in the area - not much of a beach or scenery. We stayed about 10 minutes. It is very close to downtown Arnold, so convenient.
This is a nice little lake, good for picnics and walks. There's also a baseball diamond and a new disc golf course. The course is really fun and a pleasant way to kill an hour or so. Please help keep it up by picking up trash and keeping it family-friendly.
We had a picnic (7 of us), played on the playground, played basketball, rode bikes on the trails. Took lots of photos of the water and the birds. There were several rafts and canoes on the water
