We actually did NOT have our wedding here because when we had the date set and all planned, they more than doubled the price on us and had some fine-print details that anyone should check before they tentatively plan around open-dates here. It really messed up our planning and schedule to have to book a new place. Mr. Pope, who manages bookings, was very arrogant and condescending. I love the building -- I would not recommend booking here until their business practices are sorted out.
We used to subscribe to season packages through Broadway in Chicago. The quality of the productions varied widely, and the ticket exchange policies were far from lenient. Now we only hold season tickets to the Goodman (mostly for serious drama) and the Paramount (mostly for musicals). We appreciate that the Paramount means much less driving for us than going downtown, and we know that this theater can be counted on for high production values. Even when we haven't become engaged in the plot lines (e.g., Cats and Rent), we can still be knocked out by the singing, dancing, acting, and set design. We loved Mary Poppins and are anxiously awaiting Tommy (never seen before) and Les Mis (5th time, but we never tire of it).
Just an absolute great experience. I have lived in Aurora for 10 years and this venue is better than downtown because it's a short ride, parking is cheaper, and every performance I have attended (musicals, concerts, movies, etc) is very well performed. Just the fact that Donny & Marie, Penn & Teller, and The Bacon Brothers have appeared here is really enough said. The staff (both volunteer and paid coundn't be nicer. Hat's off to the executive committee for getting top notch entertainment to a beautiful theater.
Paramount theater began its own theater series about a year or two ago, but just saw my 1st last week with "Mary Poppins". Theater is nostalgic and beautiful. Staff very friendly and the production was excellent. Easy to travel to and park as well. Would definitely consider a theater subscription in the future.
Ever since the Paramount has started producing plays, there is nothing to say but what a great job. The plays rival those produced in any other city. The plays always get rave reviews. Any production or show at the Paramount is first rate.A venue you need to check out.
Purchased the season package for 4 separate plays. very reasonably priced package with the same seats.Great place to see a Broadway production.
I took my daughter and granddaughter, it was my granddaughters first play I will bet the memory will last a lifetime, the singing- perfect. the costumes -outstanding. the dancing-wonderful the acting -memorable if you can go see this it was just so perfect! I almost can't explain what a beautiful production this is words cannot do it justice. Thank you to the wonderful people who put on Mary poppins!!
We came to see "Tommy" and were blown away by the performances but also by the theater and the stagecraft. The theater is huge (almost 2000 seats) but all have a great view of the stage and the prices were very reasonable. The staff does a great job helping folks find seats and the stage crew does really special things with lighting, costumes, special effects - you name it. It is within walking distance of the Comfort Suites Hotel which is nice because (free) parking is a little tough to find sometimes. I would definitely recommend seeing a play here - top notch on everything they do - comparable to Broadway or downtown Chicago plays (if not better).
I've been here for their Broadway-style performances and for $1 movie night and both experiences have exceeded my expectations. The stage performances are every bit as professional and entertaining as something you'd see in Chicago at a fraction of the cost. I've attended a performance of RENT and have tickets for Les Mis that I'm looking forward to this March. The $1 movies are a great way to spend an evening when the weather's no good and the atmosphere of the fancy theatre only makes it better. We took a huge pile of kids to see E.T. and everyone had a great time. The family-friendly movies do tend to have families there so expect a few crying kids and talking toddlers. The price is right, the traffic is non-existent, and the parking is free. What more could you ask for?
Love all of the Broadway play productions! The Paramount cannot be beat! Parking is handy and within a two block walking distance, restrooms in basement, main floor and balcony. Beautiful decor and professional productions. You can't beat the price either! Restaurants within walking distance....Ballydoyles, the Hollywood Casino, Chef Amaury's.
