This week it was just how I remembered it in 2007 and made a relaxing half day from nearby Bullay where we stayed - it's just 20 mins by bus on the 727 service (runs Mon to Fri only, €3.75 each way, we spent the morning here on the 0917 bus, arriving 0939, and returning at 1320, getting back to Bullay at 13.40).It was nice and quiet, not too many people, mostly of a certain age, so it was relaxing. The building and facilities themselves are all modern, well designed and super clean. We paid €9,50 each for 3 hours (it's another couple of euro for the sauna on top, we didn't bother this time) which was enough to make the most of the 32C water. The outside pool area and the extra-hot indoor mini Jacuzzi pool were the best bits. Bad Bertrich itself is a funny little place - quiet and quirky, green and lush, and hidden away. Not much to do there and, having stayed overnight on my previous trip, felt a daytrip was quite adequate this time. But worth the trip from the Bullay/ Alf area and a nice relaxing morning for sure.
The heated pool’s design cleverly joins the indoor and outdoor pools so you can easily swim from one to the other. And unlike many too-dark indoor pools, the two-story windows bring in the light and the outdoors. And the Jacuzzi pool’s jets come from below, not from the side, that add a bit of Teutonic erotic titillation! The lounge chairs are the most comfortable ever. Also onsite is a clothing-optional area with many saunas of varying temperature, more pools and the most elegant steam room. If you desire to sink into bliss even more, a huge menu of body treatments (in German only) awaits your selection.(previously published on examiner.com)
We love spending lots of time in the spa waters, as it helps with all sorts of ailments. The Therme also offers a sauna, treatments, massage etc. We always make use of the self-applied mud treatment in a steam sauna. 3 different types of mud, applied from head to toes, making the skin feel like velvet. Very recommendable!
Very clean and spacious wellness! Good restaurant, many possibilities to relax, both in- and outside. I could go again, we liked it very much!
water 36° zeer aangenaam. Jammer dat de sauna maar om 11 uur opengaat. het warme buitenbad is ook de moeite
Stayed for a whole day, also dined there. Great experience, relaxing!!!
This is a very clean, modern and airy facility with quite a clinical feel to it. The water is nice and warm and pools are a good size. It is easy to get from the indoor to the outdoor pool. The "fun" element of using a thermal baths was missing for me as there were few massaging jets set in the pool walls. The jets that were there were in constant use and it was a case of waiting for one to become available. It cost 8 euros per person for 2 hours use of the thermal pools. Entrance to the sauna area costs extra. Remember to get your parking ticket validated at reception on leaving thereby making parking free.
This is a very nice Thermen-complex according to me. I liked the swimming pool, I liked the different qualities of the water-pools, I liked the sauna’s as well, and I also liked the well-organized restaurant. Nice garden to take a rest and have a view on the hills around. Kind staff. Clean. Many things to discover! A place to come back several times, it is a high quality sauna in an interesting region – not many spa’s (see my other reviews) have this overall quality!
