I've walked across the bridge a number of times and never tire of it. You can just feel history under your feet and the views from it, up and down the Rhine, are lovely. A great place to take visitors to the region.
Wooden bridge over Rhine that connects to states. Interesting and picturable.
wonderful bridge, so old, and still in great shape. really you must walk to Switzerland in the evening, a great walk over the river Rhine in a well lit bridge, walking across one of Europe great rivers, from Germany into Switzerland, is a great walk, and an a great thing to do walking from the EU into the neutral Switzerland.
Its not often that you can walk across a beautiful covered bridge to another country. Sackingen in Germany is a cute town and it is an easy walk over to Stein in Switzerland. Don't forget your passport!!!
This bridge is our usual crossing from Stein (Switzerland) into Säckingen. This is fantastic piece of history that is well worth a visit that crosses into the town of Bad Säckingen.
It is a very nice bridge and impressive for those who are interested in architecture and history. The bridge leades into an old town with many nice restaurants and gelaterias. Special recommendation: Fuchshöhle (fine dining) and the local gelaterias (Mona Lisa).
This bridge is beautifully constucted and the history is fascinating. At night it is lit and looks even more picturesque. Standing watching and listening to the water rushing past the solid stone piers you can imagine yourself back in the Middle Ages when it was a vital link between Bad Säckingen and Stein am Rhein. The solidity of the timbers used for the bridge is testimony to the quality of the restoration work carried out over the years
