What is there to say ?! I love this place and if i could I would move here. This place is so relaxing and so beautiful .
Excellent views of the bay and the Porcupine Islands as you travel along the Loop Road and ascend Cadillac Mountain
Our first glimpse of Frenchman's Bay was from our hotel room at the Atlantic Eyrie Lodge. Later we viewed it from Cadillac mountain and finally as we walked the ocean trail. It is extremely peaceful and relaxing to view it.
Some of my happiest days have been spent on Frenchmans Bay. So many islands! Towering cliffs, black, white even golden rocky shores. Not many islands allow landings, but the few that do are delightful. The waters of the Bay are cold, and can be deadly, take care on them! We got out by kayak; there are many tour groups who can guide you safely through busy channels and tricky currents. Several tour boats also explore the bay. If you have a chance to get out there and explore (safely) do it! You won't regret it! See the guillemots, harbor porpoises, seals, Eagles, cormorants and much more!
Found a couple of patio bars, relaxed and had a drink and appetizers and watched the activity at Frenchman's Bay. Beautiful boats in and out of the bay.
We went for an afternoon cruise, mostly by sail, on the schooner Margaret Todd from the Bar Harbor Inn pier, with an Acadia National Park Ranger as a guide. The bay is beautiful and picturesque, with a huge variety of wildlife on show at different times of the year. Highly recommended to go & take a closer look.
Frenchman Bay is a beautiful place to see the ships comes in. My husband and I also took a kayaking tour which took us near the bay and eventually to some open ocean waves. Frenchman Bay is one of those key places to see in Bar Harbor, just because it's such a central part of the area.
I was fortunate enough to visit during the fall season when all the leaves were turning magnificent colors. Great area for relaxing and watching the boats come in. In addition, a fabulous are to collect sea glass when the tide is out.
This is by far one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. The harbor, islands, wildlife, everything is absolutely breath taking!! A must must must!
This is a pretty site at sunset. I like that there are so many ships and this is in middle of the city.
