It's a great stretch seaside beauty. The boulevard gives you views of the beautiful Adriatic and you can take it all in seated on the benches scattered along it. Pretty lampposts line the walkway. I think the best part of the Lungomare is the section along Old Bari.
My girlfriend and I decided to head out of Rome to Bari to get away from the heat, hustle, and bustle of the big city. As we wandered around Bari's old town, we were surprised and horrified to find swastikas and the word "nazi" featured in graffiti all over the place, even directly across from restaurants and cafes that clearly catered to tourists. Some of this disgusting graffiti had obviously been there for a while, while some of it looked relatively new. After we saw it at first we couldn't help but notice it all over the place, and no one seemed to notice or care. The sights themselves were pretty, but the fact that we were almost always within a block or two of such open displays of hatred and racism really ruined this city for us, and we could not wait to leave. Bottom line: you can find similar sights, foods, and cultural experiences in many other places that won't leave you questioning whether your waiter, taxi driver, or policeman is a nazi.
Lungo Mare is the name that every street that walks along the see has in Italy or Spain. In Bari you can take a very picturesque walk along the water. The walk in nicer especially at night fall when all the lights of the city are reflecting in the watter. It is a very romantic walk.Bari doesn't have a beach and doesn't have any terraces or nice places to relax and drink something. But is still a nice walk to take.
Bari is really nice city, small, cosy with nice views. I recommend everyone to go there... Combination of history, churches , nice sea , kinnd people.
Bari is a beautiful Italian town, but it takes time to fully understand its friendly nature.. The waterfront (lungomare) can help you achieve it. Take a chance on Bari!
The Lungomare is located a few hundred meters south of the old port, with easy access. It's a very clean place and has clean toilets as well. The Northern part provides a strategic view to the old port.Recommended!
Lungomare is the water front beautiful avenue along the Adriatic shore of Bari. It is a long avenue around 2.5 taking you from the old town to the newer modern part of Bari. I was fortunate to be there in late September when the weather is a perfect mid to high 70 degrees F.
It's very pleasant to walk on lungomare. The see landscape and the port it's beautiful. You could also enjoy the real life of the locals.Very pitoresque.
It's a very nice piece of waterfront which can be seen from the "Wall", a piece of the old walls that start from the Swabian castle and ending at the intersection of the very central C.so Vittorio Emanuele and C.so Cavour. Interesting continue to the waterfront south to the lido Pane e Pomodoro and Torre Quetta to S. Giorgio
