We were on a group tour and Symphony Hill was the first and best stop. We sat in the barrel room while the owner Ewan enthusiastically described the wines. We were given a good selection of wines to taste including a very good Shiraz and some interesting whites. The winery is in a lovely setting and there is a nice little gift shop.
Bought the wine that William and Kate had on there trip to Brisbane and so cant wait to try it at home. Demo was great and wines are beautiful.
Wow!, I had tasted the Symphony Hills Pinot Gris several years ago (loved it) but had never tasted the extensive range of quality wines from Symphony. My wife and I attended the cellar door last weekend and were very impressed with the entire range and also the professional service delivered by Belinda (think this is the correct name). We were slowly taken through the range from whites, reds, & fortifieds. The enthusiasm & passion displayed by Belinda was great to see and the wines were certainly high quality. It was great to see a Qld winery producing some top shelf wines that were complex, interesting and made skillfully from obviously a great winemaker. If you get the chance to attend this place I would recommend that you try the 2012 Gewurztraminer - This was an amazing wine which displayed intense turkish delight aromas and spice, along with a complex palate of rich lychee's/fruit tones spice and a slightly drying finish. Superb!
We stopped in to Symphony Hill Winery on the weekend. After trying a couple of wines there was one or two that were nice but just weren't right for us. The lady who served us took the time to find out what we preferred and then encouraged us to try another particular winery in the area. Her recommendation was spot on. What a great team player and representative of the Ballandean region. To put the visitor above a sale is to be commended.
Second time visiting Symphony Hill as we had interstate friends for the weekend. However, we found the presenter rather boring - too much information which turned people off, sorry! Some wines we enjoyed, but too expensive overall.
We were looked after by the lady who is married to the winemaker. We really enjoyed the wine here and bought a family reserve wine which was delicious. She gave us a tour of the premises and explained the wine making process which was one of the highlights of our visits. A great visit - highly recommend.
The guy knows his wine. Mostly whites from this area, but have some red
This little winery outside Stanthorpe produces some beautiful wines - well worth a visit to the cellar door, for an informed and generous tasting experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the prices were very good too. Loved the wine that was served to William and Kate when they were in Brisbane - testament to the quality of the Symphony Hill product.
Immaculate winery, professional winemaking team, superb array of cool climate wines makes this a worthwhile visit while on the Granite Belt. An impressive selection to taste including some great alternative varieties. Many awards in national and international shows.
You cannot go to the area without going to symphony hill as it's just the best. This is the second time to visit here and we are so thrilled we are even a cellar door member and have wines from them delivered Keep up the good wok looking forward to our next shipment
