We camp here several times a year and this makes the kids feel like they are on vacation the whole summer. Most sites are big and open so you don't feel like youn are on top or your neighbor. They have daily activities and sometimes bring in groups to teach everyone, such as birds of prey or folk stories tellers. They a swimming pool on site, fishing dock or at your campsite and swim beach near the marina.
While the campground is ok, the rules change based on how they feel for the day, the grass is either to long or mowed and big piles of grass everywhere . Campsites with dead trees. Gravel around camp and fire pit is minimal and when it rains it turns into a big mud hole. They allow people to park on the grass and it turns into big mud holes. There is not much activities for the kids in summer. Overall it's just ok. But there is a lot better out there. And the person above was correct about the lake around the campground it is just a big mud hole!
We stayed two nights in Cabin #6 in early September. It is an awesome cabin! New, clean, well stocked, peaceful and lots of deer! We hope to be back soon!
Beech Fork Lake could be nice, but it is absolutely full of trash. The water is dirty brown most of the time. Usually it reminds me of a cesspool. Ick.
I like this place too much. I always go this a place every month . We can see many deer there and we can fead them .
Once we rented a boat for a freaking $120 but oh well. Anyway we moved for about 1-5 minutes and then we got the tubes in and hopped right in them!! It was fun!! If you can get some water tubes and rent a boat at beech fork try it but don't go under there might be brain eating amebas
They need to rebuild their museum/welcome centerWould liek to see them offer large boats to rent for family reunions
I have been to few cook outs and picnics the view is wonderful and the lake is just really nice. The giant carp were a hit with the kids! Really a great time and a nice escape from hot and humid Huntington.
Relaxing week of camping, we enjoyed our stay. Nice Dump station as well, after the trip the site only had electric, but water was available to fill with.
We camped a couple of years ago, before they did all the upgrades and it is a fantastic place to stay with your family. We tent camped and had a nice site right on the lake with a bath house and laundry 50' away and a small store right on the grounds with most anything you may have forgotten. Great swimming pool and playgrounds. Was just an awesome place and a great adventure.
