Wow this place is divine. It's perfect for sunset viewing or just simply an afternoon stroll. Probably one of the highlights of the Batan island tour. Definitely not to be missed since this is where most Batanes hills pictures were taken.
Naidi Hills and Basco Lighthouse are just some miles away from Basco. I visited this place twice when I was in Batanes. And it's just beautiful. You can walk from the city proper to Naidi Hills. This will take 20-30 minutes. Some rents bicycle to visit this place. I just walked in my first visit. You will never get lost such as there is only one way to walk to. I commend the local government since the pathways is hard cement and you will not be bothered to walk alone. The second time I visit it, I was riding a tricycle as this is a part of my North Batan trip. Either ways, I felt the weather is so erratic that you need to be ready that it will rain. You will see the Bunker's Cafe in this hill, it is open every night or before sunset only. And you have to reserve a seat as they don't allow walk-in goers. Yet, you can still enjoy the view from the top of the Basco Lighthouse. It is like a four-story building. A souvenir shop is at the lower grounds so you may stop by to buy some. At the top, just feel the breeze, absorb anything that our God given us. If you are lucky, you can view the sunset in this beautiful place. If the weather is nice, no clouds at all, a beautiful sunset will end your day. All in all, you can enjoy Naidi Hills and everything in this place for FREE.Batanes and Naidi Hills is just beautiful! Enjoy!
Naidi hills is near the city center. Getting there by foot is also a nice exercise but bring a flashlight if you intend to walk at night. It is where the Basco Lighthouse and Bunker's Cafe are located. From the lighthouse, you can have a 360 degree view of the city, it's hills and cliffs, the sea and the lovely sunset. This is one of the most lovely spots to watch the sunset. A picture perfect view!
We had lunch here on our 2nd day of touring the island. They served lunch in a small hut. After you have your fill, you can skip across the fence to take amazing pictures and take in the amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. It'd be hard to take a bad picture in this place.Again, they served us Manila-style food. If you're looking for the traditional Ivatan food, you'd best be going to Pension Ivatan which serves the Ivatan Platter for PHP 1800.
One of the most beautiful spots in the area of the Basco light house is Naidi hills. Rolling hills of green, green grass will mesmerize you! Don't ever miss a chance to see the sunset, have your cameraa ready to capture one of the most striking sunsets in Basco. Truly amazing scenery!
Naidi Hills is a nice place to laze out more than once. It is where Basco lighthouse is situated and very easy to visit on foot or by cycling from the plaza (approx.1.2 km). After a day tour or so, one can often come to this place and laze out during sunrise or sunset. Vayang rolling hills is situated further 1.6km up.
One can climb the stairs inside. Your reward is the wonderful Batanes view of water and hills. Worth the trouble of going up.
The scenery was romantic and spectacular. I felt very much at peace. Even though my husband slipped and hurt his ankle, we still came back to finish exploring the place. WOuld definitely want to go back and bring our daughter with us.
Your visit to Batanes is not complete without visiting this place! This place is just too beautiful - and unique from anywhere in the Philippines..You can ride a bicycle going up - economical and healty.
the place provides vantage view of infinite rolling hills, natural trails, feel the wind blowing fresh air to your body, be 1 with Mother Earth. Advisable to hire car to arrive here, but i see people hiking, or taking trike.
