The cable car cost only 5 GEL per person for a ten-minute ride up to a great panoramic of the city! You can stay as long as you like at the top. There's a cafe there that serves and extensive lunch and a hooka bar next door (though it was closed when I went on a Friday afternoon). It was built in 2012, and has room for 8 passengers per car. This was the highlight of our day!
Other than the Dolphinarium, this was the highlight of the city. It was a great ride up to a high view point and was very affordable. The cable cars are safe and modern and offer a great panorama of Batumi. The cars sit 6 comfortably but can get hot - I suggest you board last so you get the open window. It is only open 10am - 2pm or so. Be early because the lines can grow as the day passes. There are lots of souvenirs to peruse while you wait. There is a cafe at the top so you can enjoy a coffee/tea while enjoying the view.
Cheap way to get an overview of the city. Built in 2012 one wonders whether the many houses that it passes over got any compensation for what is a non-essential tourist attraction. The lookout point and cable car station at the end has a café, but service can be painfully slow. Still worth a trip.
Georgians love cable cars and it's one of the best among Tbilisi and Kutaisi cable cars. Have a shot if you would scared. :)
Despite quite a long and somewhat complicated procedure to actually board the cable car, it was a fun way to get a perspective of the city. One small hotel at the top, with nothing much to do but take pictures at the top. It has a small viewing terrace and a cafe.
Not much money for a delightful view of the Batumi area. This is a new and comfortable cable car trip to a nicely situated summit, There are comfortable sitting areas around the viewing areas, Refreshments are available, but you need to confirm the prices before you order.
On a positive side the ride is comfortable and enjoyable with nice views of Batumi and mountains around it. Cable cars are still new and seem reliable.But...It took us about 20 minutes' queuing to get onto the cable car for a less than a 10 minute ride. Once you get to the top there's a small platform with a cafe. The cafe is understaffed and our order took ages to arrive. The Turkish coffee arrived about 10 minutes later than kid's milkshakes. Cakes took another 10 minutes. Overall, considering limited options in a small place like Batumi, it's probably worth a visit as long as you level your expectations accordingly.
You can ride this modern cable car to the high hill overlooking the city. On the way up you can glance at the old houses located on hills and from lookout point you'll be able to see all the city bellow. Nice coffee with the live Georgian music is additional bonus.
