Thsi a must stop on Your way to Hana or Paia. It is past Paia and great, especially if high winds! tasty fruit stand and area for picknick.
Took incredible pictures from the lookout here. A must see! Did not spend any time on the beach....the lookout is plenty! Watching surfers on these big waves was pretty awesome!
We went there after researching that the surfers are practicing on that beach these days. Keeping in mind that we went there on a gray, rainy and foggy afternoon, there were at least 20 surfers catching waves, and catching them beautifully indeed. Had the day been sunny, I am sure my review would comprise of more nature-like comments. However that day, I was most impressed by the nearly 20 grave-like wooden crosses on the rocks near the beach, and by the brave adrenaline junkies in the murky waters.Loved it!
Stopped here on the way to Hana. Super cool spot to watch surfers. We also saw some really cool wildlife here. We saw a hide Hawaiian Monk Seal on the beach and several sea turtles. Very cool to see. Recommend a visit here.
We came to this beach because we heard that in the afternoon the sea turtles come up on the beach to sleep. We were rewarded by seeing them as well as a seal that decided to nap on the beach as well. We had fun watching the sail surfers as well.
We stopped here on a windy day to watch the surfers and windsurfers and what a show it was. They were getting big air and doing all kinds of flips and tricks! If you make it down to the beach you can find lots of sea turtles on the beach, but keep your distance.
Another one of many Maui beaches that has all of the qualities of what one would picture as an idea Surf Movie setting.Tanned men and women line the beach and play in the surf on every known water sport board.Plenty of free parking, lots of places to enjoy some food while observing all of the water sports.
This place just outside Paia is awesome. A must see! A wonderful opportunity to see very skilled professionals take on the waves. Captured many wonderful surf pictures and turtles as well. there were even some free roaming roosters at picnic park at beach. A truly magnificent find and even better its all free! We even saw a local person with a net fishing in the shallow waters here.
Great place to watch surfers. Coastline is spectacular. Parking is easy, a very short walk to the cliffs overlooking the beach. Supposedly the best waves on the island, but I'm not positive about this.
Went here with friends and their children. Camped out on the beach, perfect spot to let the kiddos roam around. Watched the surfers take in the sun and surf the gentle waves. Also went to the little beach which was a small climb over...great way to bring in the night- typical drum circle- spinning poi, children running around, semi-hippie arty nightly festy. But nice. Tons of locals to meet here.
