What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Located in the heart of Belleville, IL, just 15 miles east of St. Louis MO. The staff are deeply vested in preserving the history of St. Clair County and teaching it to their patrons. Beautiful old photos and relics. Clean facility and handicap accessible amenities.

If you need any genealogy information from St. Clair County, IL, Belleville has it all! The Historical Society is a wonderful place to visit, and the Belleville Public Library has so many resources it's incredible! Thanks to the Genealogy Society of St. Clair Co, many family names are already researched and documented. Amazing!

My son and I took a day- trip to Belleville. One of our lucky stops was this place...the tour guide, Norma , was friendly and knowledgeable . We could ( and would) ask questions and she'd answer or tell us she'd find out. It was an hour well- spent.
