This is another place you really need to stop at if you enjoy icewine. Jackson-Triggs had the best tour of all the wineries I had visited.
We usually prefer to visit smaller estate wineries as we have had better educational experiences. During our last visit to NOTL we visited the impressive Jackson-Triggs winery as we were searching for a particular wine we had enjoyed at a restaurant. The two young men working in the tasting room that day went out of their way to research which particular Pinot Noir it was that we would have tasted, and also let us try a few other comparables before making our decision. It turned out to be a lot of fun and very educational as well! The facility is architecturally very striking in design, clean, and well laid out. We would love to return when the weather is conducive to enjoying the grounds and the patio.
incredibly friendly staff and gorgeous scenery.the drive over was a 10$ fee with a local taxi guy from Niagara on the Lake.Lots of wine samples the iced wines were amazing and def a must try!! i will more then likely go back on our next visit to Canada.
This is a great place to have lunch or spend an afternoon. The vineyards are beautiful and you can walk around and have a look. In the summer they had movies one night a week but unfortunately due to bad weather and low attendance they cancelled it, but I hope they try again as it was fun sitting outside in the vineyard watching a movie enjoying a nice glass of wine. The little bistro they have has good food at a reasonable price and the staff is super friendly.
We had an excellent tour led by Sarah on a crummy day weatherwise. She made it entertaining, the samples were all explained clearly, and all of our questions were answered skillfully. A very informative tour. Five dollars was charged for this tour and tasting, but once into the Jackson Triggs boutique, you could use your tour ticket to receive $5 off the purchase of any product in the store. How perfect is that? I would recommend this tour.
Jackson-Triggs is a winery you visit to take pictures of the wine-making process and learn how these things work in Canada. Then you taste an assortment of okay-to-good wines, but nothing really fantastic - there are better wineries in the area, but none as eye-catchy as Jackson-Triggs. I suggest visiting on a sunny day to enjoy all the nice scenery they have to offer and get lunch there. I'm not really sure if it's a good idea to buy wine there because most of their wines are readily available at the LCBO, but if you feel like buying a case, go for it - I remember getting a sparkling red that was a limited edition I couldn't find anywhere else and was really interesting. It's definitely worth visiting, and I know lots of wine-people will say "oh no they're too commercial!" - they are! but it's a beautiful place and I like taking pictures! Go for it!
Great wine and great staff.nice atmosphere. Do the wine tour if you can.if you see Jerry or Diane at the tasting bar approach them they are fantasic
Really enjoyed the Shiraz, and Cab Franc & Riesling Ice Wines. These were some of the only wines we purchased during the ice wine festival. The workers were also very friendly and informative. They have a nice fireplace to enjoy. There is not much to the scenery out the back as we went in the winter.
First of all niagara on the lake was beautiful!!! Second of all I highly recommend visiting jackson triggs winery and doing the tour and taste testing! The tour wasOnly $5 and lasted approx 45 mins. They bring you into the vineyard and then on a complete tour through their facility. Our tour guide was very knowledgable and they offer 4 different wines along the tour. When the tour is compete you finish in the gift shop where you have the option to sample moreWine for cheap! Your tour pass also gives you $5 on any purchases !! Great experience !!!
The tasting was fantastic being already a Jackson Triggs fan. The tour was very interesting and informative. The winery appears to be kept in very good shape, and great place to take guests. The building is just so beautiful with their giant glass doors. I can't wait to try their food. I ended up getting their wine membership because I can't wait to try more of their wine. It also gives me free tours for myself plus 5 others, along with discounted food.
