The theatre is beautiful! the productions are very professional. The costume museum is a must to visit & have lunch there ,along with the play, makes a wonderful , fun day!
If you arrive late, you'll be parking all the way in the back. Although, they do have valet parking. Another tip, you can enter the parking lot from the rear (Dixie Highway) to avoid the traffic on (Federal Highway)
This is the second season and I saw a production of La Cage aux Folles. Broadway could not have done better. The theatre is located at 7901 N. federal Highway, Boca Raton. valet parking is free. I was told they will have productions year round. You will have good seats everywhere. This was one of my most memorable nights at the theatre. A Broadway show without the Broadway prices.
We made the mistake of booking in the front row, expecting that we would be able to enjoy the intimacy of a small theater production. The sound was so distorted in the front row that we were unable to understand much of the dialogue. Others in the front row complained of the same problem.Otherwise the production was quite good, and the Wick was one of the nicer regional theaters that I have experienced, with a good rake of the seats, comfortable seating, good lighting, and an excellent theatrical production. I will come back, but sit further back in the theater.
My wife and I were visiting friends and Florida and they suggesting taking in a show at The Wick. Are we ever glad. The performance was first rate. We saw La Cage aux Folles and the two leads were Broadway professionals. The sets were terrific, as was the musical accompaniment. The seating was very comfortable and the ushers were very accomodating. My wife needs a walker and they held it for us during the show. Pre show, during intermission and post show, there was a pianist entertaining in the lobby. Although we didn't get to see it, there is a costume museum attached to the theater. We overheard a great many comments from people about how good the museum was. This is only the second year for The Wick, but if this show is any indication, it should be around for a long time.
This theatre puts on first rate live shows! In addition to the spectacular costumes, the stagecraft and acting are just first rate. We've seen two shows here, and were very impressed. Great care is obviously taken with all aspects of the programs. The theater is comfortable, as well. The management is clearly dedicated to putting on professional quality musicals. Bravo!
A large group of senior citizens visited the theater to see an afternoon showing of Man of La Mancha. Very entertaining event. The actors were very professional & sang beautifully. All the seats had a good view of the stage. Costumes & scenery were first rate.
Take a great tour through eleven different sets of Broadway musical costumes, then, get some backstage info, and a wonderful lunch with the history of the family, Costume World, and the Wick Theater. The best of all- the musical productions. We have sen three of them in less than nine months. They are top-flight with only the best singers, actors, and dancers, and the costumes!! A wonderful theater within 333 seats. So, there are only good ones. This is a local treasure for all who enjoy musical theater.
the performance was very professional and excellent. it provides snack bar-wine etc which you can bring to seat; and gelato bar-also to seat. beautiful lounge area. seating is very good, sound system excellent. saw rat pack. all-in-all a great experience.will return.
This is wonderful.... a BETTER THAN BROADWAY Performing Arts Center in my back yard. This theater itself is narrow so every seat in the house faces the stage. There is not a bad seat in this wonderful, stadium seating, smaller than the usual places we go to. And the price? Broadway Professionals at 1/2 of what you would pay in New York or Boston. The only downside are the yakking yentas at matinees. I have to shush them a bit before I get downright nasty. We just saw La Cage, and are looking forward to Man Of La Mancha and Oklahoma.
