Plaza Bolivar in Ciudad Bolivar is small quiet place in the heart of old Ciudad Bolivar. It has lovely surroundings and nice statues. In the middle, the great Bolivar overlooks the plaza, with ladies representing each state he freed during the independence war in the "corners" of the plaza. The place is nice and clean and almost empty. It´s nice to chill around, relax and enjoy the sleepy atmosphere of the plaza. We took it easy and took our time there - so we easily spent about 20-30 minutes wandering around, making photos and resting.
There aren't too many places of interest in Ciudad Bolivar and this small plaza is probably near the top of the list. Attractive cathedral and government buildings, and a few trees. Added bonus of free wifi!
Its a peculiar place with a lot of history. That place was the start of Caracas. If you are around it have a look of the arquitecture and the chapel next to the square, they are the same as the first time when were builded. twitter: @soytuguiave
