Corpus Christi celebration is connected to the veneration of this Church. Also the area around the church is very beautiful
A most unusual church which gives onto catacombs and a small stone coffin said to be of an Etruscan Queen who later became a symbol for Santa Christina
Nice Church - not really a tourist attraction unless you are Catholic. Pleasant bars in the area though...
the catacombes were facinating, must do, well worth the few euros charge. The whole church felt welcoming.
Festival of Santa Christina is worth visiting in summer with the opportunity to see misteries of Santa Christina
A very interesting church with a history of developments throughout its existance. The underground catacombs date to the 5th centuary and are a formidable sight [and very cool on a hot day]. The Basilica dates from medieval times.
It;s history about St Cristina and the Corpus Domini miracle
The Basilica is stunning. We paid to visit the Crypt and were given lots of information about Saint Cristina before looking round on our own. Would recommend the visit. Better to check opening times of the Basilica in advance.
The miracle of the bleeding holy bread supposedly happened here and still stains from the droplets are visible on the altar. Very nice church and older altars
This was spectacular - the festa (July 23-24th) was brilliant - a parade through the streets with tableaux. the basilica is lovely on an ordinary day but was beautifully decorated for the festa.
