Its all about JFK. Must see museum in a lifetime. Perfect staff , very informative museum, prices are good. highly recommend
I came here as part of a class and really enjoyed it. There is plenty of parking, so don't worry about that. There is a video at the start and then you walk around a variety of areas with posters, videos, pictures, etc. If you love JFK (as most do) come by on a rainy afternoon instead of sitting home.
The first time I visited the Kennedy Museum, I didn't expect much. But it is gorgeous. It sits on a penninsula in Boston Harbor - so beautiful!. Their exhibits change routinely, but they are always engaging. And speakers are often part of the draw. It's a "must see."
I travelled with a close friend who I could only describe as a JFK groupie so when we were in Boston a visit to the JFK library was a must for her and me ...well I tagged along. What a revelation when I found myself engrossed in the story of JFK and his gorgeous wife and absorbing every minute detail of this fabulous display. We were there for 3 hours and would have stayed longer except that is was closing. Don't worry about a guided tour you can easily take yourself around this exhibition and see the many rooms which use a wide variety of multi media displays. If I could say one thing about this establishment is that it needs a better restaurant/ cafeteria. Oh and the views are fabulous.
So many artifacts, even a coconut he wrote on when he was in service. Jackie Os wedding gown, the snack bar has great Clam Chowder. Midst gorgeous American Flag hanging in the atrium...Check it out
First, the location: set at the end of a promontory with a great outlook to Boston harbor, there is plenty of room on the site to set off the dramatic architecture. This location was selected by Mrs Kennedy, after controversy arose over JFK's original plan to build the library in Cambridge. The I.M.Pei structure is dramatic against the simple landscaping (reclaimed from a garbage dump). The museum itself is quite straightforward to go through, not really extensive, but gives an excellent overview of JFK's life and times. If you lived through those times, most interesting, but also for younger audiences it is a great introduction to the man and his family. The Museum and Library is set next to the University of Massachusetts Boston campus and the Edward Kennedy Institute for the US Senate (scheduled to open in March 2015).Easiest to reach by car, but also possible via train (T - Red Line to JFK/UMass station), then number 8 or 16 bus.
We missed getting here on our last trip and my wife really wanted to see it. Well this time we made it. It does not disappoint. It was easy to get to we used a train and bus to get there. Being an Aussie you hear and read about a lot of American history and this museum bought it all to life and more. You can see why the American people loved this man and his family. Very affordable to get in and easy to get around. Just do it.
