The winery part of this destination is great for the adults - try their fruit wines - you'll love them. It's also a great place for kids especially in late summer and fall when they get to pick apples, pumpkins, etc and see how apple cider is made.
Fall apple picking is a breeze at Archibald orchards. Lot of varieties to select from. Trees are pruned and groomed to place apples within easy reach of just about any picker. The orchard grounds are neat and walking is easy. If anyone has allergies to hornets or wasps---come prepared---fall is hornet season and ripening fruit is an attractant...this situation is not unique to this location (and presents itself at fruit markets as well). The winery is well stocked with a wide array of ciders and fruit wines. The hostess and hosts are friendly and happy to talk about the product lines and to share samples of any you might wish to try. Ready picked apples, baked goods and gift items are also available. Golf course is available as is a play area for children. No pets allowed:(
Apple wines were good, we bought two bottles. The staff was quite nice. Perfect for a fall outing. I would go back again.
Went and picked some apples on a saturday morning the apples were great and fresh and the wine tasting was fun and we picked up some hard cider and some non alcoholic sparking cider as well as some awesome regular apple cider. Tasted just like an apple with no after taste. The apple dumpling was delicious and was still warm when we bought them. Fun little morning.
Nice place to try the local wine and find some interesting gift baskets. In the fall you can take the kids to the outdoor play areas, pick your own apples, enjoy some cider and have an apple blossom, Yum! Need to figure out the wasp situation as that can be a big problem. Overall a nice place to spend a few hours in the fall.
Archibald's is a neat spot to check out even if you are not into Wine. They have a great selection of apple picking or already picked apples as well as many other different things in their shop. We have had some average service but it is generally good. Prices have always seemed competitive.
I'm a wine lover, the wines here are fruit wines, something I hadn't tried before. But, because they're local, I tried their wine. What a pleasant surprise! They're not too sweet. They're actually really good. The kids also love to pick apples here too.
Great location with a little bit of country. Round of golf and sampling of wines. Excellent wines. Fabulous apples and a wonderful family outing. Each season has something different to offer.
Play a round at the executive course (great for the kids), and then take a stroll through the winery. The apple based wine is refreshingly different and reasonably priced. The expert advice comes from the proprietors and tasting is available for most brands. While you're there, buy some crisp fresh apples for baking or eating.
Great wines and gifts for all occasions. Lots to do and lots of events throughout the year.
