Stayed for nine days. They don't "Do" tourism in Bracciano. There are so many interesting places nearby to visit but forget it unless you have a car. Public transport is very poor. You can either get the train to Rome or Viterbo and a bus to the two other much nicer towns on the lake. Civic pride doesn't seem high on the agenda either at the lake or in the town. We stayed next to a beautiful garden with amazing views but unfortunately it was a hot spot for all the young of the town to drink and hang out until all hours and as a result it was filthy with litter, cigarette butts, empty bottles and glasses. The castle is all it has to recommend it. If you have to go, make it a day trip. if you want to stay at the lake ,stay in Trevignano, stunning, relaxing and spotless.
Bracciano is a small little hill town overlooking Lago Bracciano and was a short hour so train ride from Rome, thank you to the other travelers who recommended this town, it is a worthwhile day trip and nice escape from the crowds from Rome. The castle gives you a taste of times past but the views from it are even grander. We ate at a restaurant just below the castle with a trip advisor sign and had our best meal in Italy at a very reasonable cost. A wonderful day.
Beautiful lake, lots of people watching and water sports lovely resturants and bars right on the late side . Short walk from the town o f Bracciano but up hill all the way. Where again there is lots of lovely resturants.
The lake of bracciano is a place to relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery of the nature. It gic2s uou a peaceful feeling that stays with you after you leave. Hope you will enjoy as i did.
Great views from the village. In summer it must be so refreshing. The situation is entirely natural and the borders of the lake aren't built up at all. There are plenty of hills so the view from houses must be magnificent.
Tip: Visit the Trevignano market on a sunday evening - sunrise is amazing! The market is placed directly at the riviera and is huge! You will also find a lot of inviting places to have a glass of wine or a great dinner.
We stayed on the campsite adjacent to the lake, spectacular scenery, the lake is well worth a visit. It's more off the beaten track, so quieter than the more popular lakes
Beautiful! lovely water and good food. A good day trip or weekend after the hustle and bustle of Rome.
What a wonderful Lake in a wonderful location. Beautiful weather, wonderful citadels surrounding the lake. An easy hour or two from Rome, it is worthwhile to go see this wonderful place away from the hustle and bustle of Rome. There are wonderful towns dotted all around the lake and we stayed in one overnight. Each has their own unique atmosphere, restaurants and shops and activities. If you are on a longer break to Rome, hire a car and go see. It's a wonderful place.
this lake is wonderful, with its crystal blue water, the shape of the ancient volcano surrounding it, the variety of birds and animals you can find going around. Pay a visit to the three cities on the lake: Bracciano, Anguillara Sabazia and Trevignano Romano
