We came here for the Mitty races April, 2014 and had a wonderful time! This track and facilities are great. My favorite was spectator hill where we could drive up and just sit in our vehicle and watch the races! Really awesome time and hope to be back again soon!
Work here as SCCA volunteers and always love it! Elevation changes are amazing! Lots of room for spectators to camp and watch. Can't wait to be there for the Petit LeMans next year too! We drive from Orange Park , Florida for the weekend and it is worth it!
I've ridden Road Atlanta with two trackday clubs. This track is challenging and a great deal of fun.Lots of elevation changes, many different types of turns, many opportunities to pass...And coming over the blind rise on the back straight wide open in 6th gear is a RUSH!Highly recommended!
I've been a race fan for many years and have spent way too much at Road Atlanta - I'm finally getting around to writing a review. This is a fantastic track to watch a race at. Depending on the event, you can camp out or make it a day trip. Our favorite camping spot is on the outside of turns 10A /10B. For the larger races, the infield is set up with a vendor village with plenty of food and cool racing stuff to go through. If it works for you, it's fantastic to bring a scooter or golf cart to get around though during the big events, there are shuttles.
Enjoy the excitement of the races, hot dog & food stands. Different racing events have different booths and activities. If you are a racing fan you will like Road Atlanta.
Living 3/4 mile away from Road Atlanta and hearing the roar of the cars all day long has put a bad taste in our mouths toward car racing and especially Road Atlanta. We didn't know the track was there when we moved in to our house! Although I've had the opportunity to drive on the course and it was a blast, I think auto racing is a colossal waste of time, money and fuel. Like I said in the title, it's fun for about 5 minutes then it's utterly boring. We're also dismayed that they race on the Lord's Day; actually that any sport is observed on Sundays rather than adhering to the command to rest from work (remember, it is a job).
While we live on the other side of the country we have come to Road Atlanta several times over the years. We have been to national level motorcycle road races, AHRMA vintage motorcycle races including vintage motocross.Always a nice venue. Easy to find, park, good to walk around. And the years and years of great racers we have seen there.
My husband and I went to the Mitty they held in October. It was a very fun, exciting time. My husband had on the track access because he works for a company that was racing so I felt like I got the VIP access. I love this track and enjoy watching the races from all angels.
My wife and I had a exciting time at the Road Atlanta Petite Le Mans. My wife had never been to any kind of racing event and she love it. The petite Le Mans is a unique formate with several different classes of cars competing at the same time. We were able to walk down back side of pit row and see first hand the pit crews servicing the cars as they came into the pit.
I was bummed when DMG dropped Road Atlanta from the AMA series! I am very happy it will be back in 2015. Great camping. Tons of viewing areas! Great track!
