Played both Dunes and Lost Farm, spectacular settings and despite the rain, wind, hail and sunshine, the best golf experience in Australia, greens need some work but I've found that to be a seasonal matter....well done to the owners for keeping this amazing duo of courses generally in great shape ! Well worth the trip to Tassie !
View from this restaurant is the number one, fantastic sea view and golf view. Price is very reasonable.
Really enjoyed playing this course although on Wednesday it was blowing a galeHad to stop after 14 holes as I was sandblasted Course was impeccable with greens huge & in great condition
Had great expectations when arrived but after playing first seven holes we were bitterly disappointed as the greens were in extremly poor condition and as these are some of the iconic holes it made impossible to enjoy and appreciate these holes.a email would have been appreciated as lost farm was faultless.
Great place to experience a true links course. Take lots of balls as the grass is unforgiving BUT you will have a wonderful time with many stories to tell about that great shot out of that really big bunker. Well worth the stay in a memorable part of Oz.
What a course. You step onto the first whole and just feel disappointed, straight away you start to doubt the reviews and the hype. It's basic, it's flat, it's straight and not much to look at. I implore you, hold your judgement. Hole two and three get you a little more interested. The course starts to take some kind of shape. Then bang it opens up to the best course (apart from barnbougale dunes) that you will see. Wait for the par 3 4th, it's a hole you will want to play over and over but take an extra club or two depending on the wind, my pw wasn't anywhere near enough. It's a longer walk than the dunes by far even without the two extra holes but there are much better facilities waiting for you at the end of the round. Take a box of balls and take advantage of the local Irish drop rule. Only average thing, it will be windy!
Magic part of the world. A must for golfers. The setting, courses, accommodation and restaurant make for a delightful experience.
We drove up here for lunch and was amazed by the superb views. The quality of the restaurant was just beautiful. Extremely stylish surroundings which is enhanced by the huge windows which gives you an amazing view of the gorgeous scenery. The lunch menu was very reasonably priced and the quality of the food was fantastic. One of the best dining experiences I've had in Tasmania. The quality of the wine list was also excellent. It's a reasonably long drive up a dirt road and at times you hope you are actually going in the right direction. It's well worth the drive. We didn't use the golf course so can't comment on that.
This place is simply amazing each time I've been the service has been fantastic , the food pretty good and the view and atmosphere is to die for.
I played the lost farm on what started out a beautiful day. This course is truely amazing the only down fall is when the wind picks up and makes it so hard. If u miss the fairway new ball please. Will be back.
