creative selection of things to see, Science on the Screen being one example. Nicely renovated and a real part of the community
Great local independent theater in the heart of Coolidge Corner. Join if you are local. They need your support and it is more than worthwhile. They show great films and there are lots of benefits for members! Something for everyone from tots to grandparents!
I love this theater. They have movies that don't get shown everywhere. They are often more intellectual in nature, and do well in Brookline. The movie theater was lovingly restored by people in the community who didn't want to lose this gem. Lots of parking nearby, and just a comfortable place to see movies.
I love this theater, just for it's laidback, non-commercial feel. It's not a madhouse, it's beautiful inside, and right in the middle of town.
Large, majestic theater on the ground level. Smaller theaters upstairs. Reasonably priced (compared to metroplexes) refreshments. Well curated movie offerings. In the heart of Coolidge Corner with parking lot adjacent and T-stop a half block away. What more could you ask for? Oh, yes, I remember. They also serve wine and beer!
went here for our anniversary, and i'm regretting not going here sooner. The theater has amazing charm and ambiance. The cool thing about this place is that there are no pre-movie commercials because they are independent. This also allows them to show some odd, unique, and limited release movies which you wont find anywhere else. Ticket prices were $11 for a saturday night movie, this is on par or a bit cheaper than other movies in the area. By far the best part is they have beer, on draft! The movies just became fun again!
My husband and I went to a movie in this Theatre last weekend and it didn't look like much from the outside but we were pleasantly surprised by the inside. The screening room we went into was a good size and looked like it had all the original decor from 1930's. It was facinating to seeand we really enjoyed it.
"It's only playing at Coolidge Corner Theater" - said anyone of any up and coming limited release movie. In the heart of Brookline, close to delicious restaurants, fun shops and the T, sits a pearl of movie theater experiences. It's a clash of the olden days theater, with artsy deco interior and big lighted sign exterior, and modern conveniences, like beer/wine selection and mostly stadium seating. The theater has a handful of rooms, from the large big screen room to the smaller, comfy recliner-lounge chair livingroom-like screens. It's the kind of place you wish your crazy uncle owned and that you had the memories of growing up in. It's more than just movies -- check out the schedule for all the awesome presentations available and realize you need only go to the Mega-Theaters for your required Super Hero/Car Chase movies from now on.
This is a beautiful huge art deco movie theatre with very comfortable seats, a huge screen, good popcorn and even wine & beer! It is a great place to see a movie. The only challenge is parking as it is in the heart of Coolidge Corner.
Everyone who loves art films knows the Coolidge Corner Theater. The rooms range from the large renovated 1st floor cinema to the tiny 8 person room. Customers tend to be polite and not talk which I can't say about most of the movie houses around.
