I went for a family reunion in rural Indiana and we rented three cabins in the Whitewater Memorial State Park. They were not just clean, but beautiful. They were close enough together for us to be connected by green lawns and trees, but separate enough to be private. The interiors were well decorated and functional. The lake is down the hill and all of Brookville Lake Recreation area is nearby. We rented two pontoons from Kents Harbor and had dinner from Ainsley's, as well as lunch. Everything was excellent. I highly recommend this as a destination vacation spot. It has everything! Tell them Felix sent you . . .
We love taking our boat out during the week when there are only a handful of fisherman & a few ski boats. Drive up to Ainsley's for dinner overlooking the lake. We're blessed b/c we only live 3 miles from the Lake but when we're on it, it's like we're on vacation.
Lots of different places to visit. I had a reunion with the family I used to babysit for (3 little girls) and they had so much fun in the lake and on the play grounds
This Labor Day weekend we spent at the Mounds SRA Campground on Brookville Lake and had a pretty wonderful experience. We visited the Dam, well maintained picnic area, restrooms and lawn, great view of the lake as well. Beach was clean and well-maintained, nice showers and a concession stand. We had to call with an issue about someone entering the woods with a saw and a DNR ranger was at our campsite within five minutes. ONLY complaint we had were the bathroom and shower areas, inadequate facilities, water either too hot or too cold, bathrooms not clean, area not well ventilated.....we all know that can be a deal breaker! Fix that and you'll be a 5-star campground. Check out your camp site on the maps---they have quite a selection, and some that are very large and/ or private, set way into the woods!
Food was great an the service was very good an the view excellant. Just a very nice place to sit enjoy the meal an check out the view.
It's a big draw, but we were here for other things. Stopped by on the way out of town at the overlook by the dam. Very pretty and clean.
My kids love it here. We go to the "beach" area. We take a picnic and spend an entire afternoon. The kids splash in the water, build in the sand. The water is shallow, the sand is clean.
We stayed at the sagamore resorts and rented a pontoon boat. Very nice lake. Couldn't believe how big it is. The men did a lot of fishing. They caught some catfish and bass. We also swam a lot. I think we are going back next year.
Not worth the trip, nothing great about this place, lived beside it for 6 years, visited it once in a while. Over priced merchants, bad roads, lot of better, prettier, lakes to go to.
I boat and fish here every year. Yea, you need lake permit here too. Read your regulations people and you will see. Anyway this is a great lake for fishing, boating and camping. Check it out.
