Stone Mountain Arts Center is a really intimate venue for a concert. It is small enough to be right there with the performers yet large enough to have great acoustics and a good size crowd. They have a restaurant and a bar also...one stop shopping.
SMAC did a great job planning my brother's wedding, if you are planning a wedding in the area I suggest visiting their website. The food was very good, I am still looking for a recipe for the pumpkin butter that was served with the cornbread!!
SMAC hosted my husband and I's wedding and made it the best day we ever could have dreamed of and then some! The staff there is absolutely incredible and well trained, the food is amazing, and everything moved along swiftly and seamlessly. Carol, the owner, is an absolute gem. She is talented, sweet, and one heck of a cook! Hannah, the wedding planner, addressed ever single question my husband and I had along the way and made it fun and easy to plan our wedding. Jackie, the florist, did an incredible, beautiful, amazing job with our flowers and even invited us to her farm to plan out all of the details. The barns are absolutely stunning too, photos are nice but do not even do them justice. Simply beautiful. We also attended a show (and went early for dinner) - it was a blast and the food was delicious! I can't wait to go back for more.I could go on and on about how wonderful this venue is. If you are considering having your wedding there, just do it - you will be thrilled with your beautiful and memorable day!
Stone Mountain is an arts enter that is small in size, and because it is, it can provide a really nice night for you and your date or friends. Seating is at tables so that dinner can be served ahead of the concert. If you do not wish to have dinner, you can arrive closer to show time and just get a beer or glass of wine for your evening. Pick your concert from the website's detailed listing of country, Cajun, Celtic or emerging or retiring artists. You will not find the kind of names who play Madison Square Garden. Remember, this is an intimate venue with no bad seats. Be forewarned that your GPS will get you lost and your cell phone will have no signal. Take your directions from the web page, buy your tickets in advance, and bring cash the night of the concert for food and drinks. People loved the stew, chili, dessert and coffee. Just white zin for me. Enjoy. The timber frame barn awaits. Hope you catch snow outside the windows as we did.
I do live close but i also see why people drive from far away to see a show and eat a meal here. off the main road a little this is a unique place to see any kind of show. awesome sound and being close to the performer is a treat.
We went last night (2 couples) and LOVED IT ! Top flight professional musicians ! Great sound system, stage & lighting ! Every seat is close to the stage ! A beautiful barn tavern (for pre-dinner drinks) and even more beautiful barn concert hall for dinner and the show ! The good was great, the price for tickets & dinner was very fair, the service was super and the atmosphere was just awesome ! This is a must visit for local residents and tourists ! Wow !
We saw Paula Cole one night and the Don Campbell Band the 2nd. Audiences are enthusiastic but respectful. Venue is remote but warm and welcoming.
My wife and I saw Marcia Ball and enjoyed the evening very much. We had supper there and it too was very good. We arrived early (around 5 or so) and enjoyed a couple of beer in the bar while waiting for the performance area to open. You get a number when you pick up your tickets, so the earlier you pick up the tickets, the lower the number you have for seating for the performance. Low numbers go first. A simple systems that works well. I held back from giving an excellent rating simply because it was dark when we arrived and I didn't get a good look at things in the light of day. It is in a very isolated setting, but not too far away from Conway, which is where I'll stay next time I visit.Small venue to enjoy a close-up view of favourite performers.
I can only say good things about this little venue in the woods of maine. It's a dinner and a show venue, small, intimate, well run with friendly people, good food, and very lovely setup. The room is small and tightly packed (mostly with hi top tables and chairs) but if you can deal with a little bit of cramped spaces, it's wonderful. Beer/Wine served and there is a reception bar as you wait for the show to set up and start. There are rules, and you should follow them - seating is first come first serve for the shows. If you are high maintenance and want things your way - go elsewhere. They have a system and its lovely. just go with the flow. The sound and lighting was spot on.
What a venue!!! Great entertainment the night we were there. Ruthie Foster sang the "blues"!!!! The acoustic sound within in this beautiful barn is fabulous. Dinner was wonderful. Great menus, large portions and for a dessert you shouldnt miss!!! Wine list very nice. Just a great evening!
