It's the deepest river canyon in Europe. One of the most beautiful landscape, that I've ever seen! :)
Far 4 hours by car from Budva, but the trip is worth it and the views are excellent including mountains and river. You must do the kayaking, to enjoy the views from the river between the mountain.
If you are to Montenegro, you must visit this place... a magnificent view and mountain air! There's also you should visit the restaurant "Most" and enjoy their meal, especially tender young lamb , you will not regret!Further, if you are traveling on car just need to drive along the river to the side and Majkovac and plunge in the cold and purest river - Tara!Good rest)
A must to see in Montenegro, Tara Canyon with its wild nature was worth visiting. We enjoyed the view, zip line tour over the canyon and a great dinner at the Motel TARA MB, clay pot baked lamb. Having eaten this also in Herceg Novi our experience was that the clay pot baked lamb is much better in the North area of Montenegro. The price for zip line tour was EUR 20,- per person.
If you visit nearby, check the place. The view is stunning. Short drive from Zabljak. Theres a couple of restaurant in both ends of the bridge.
We went to Zabljak and had a day with rafting nearby. Paddled under Tara Bridge, and later on drove to the bridge to look at the view. Te whole area is amazing
Such a grand place, it's a must see in Montenegro, very surprising that still not many people know about it's existence. You can zip line from one side to the other (if you're brave enough!)
The Bridge, the Tara Canion just amazing views,a paradise for photographers and nature lovers. The whole National Park in Durmitor is worth a longer stay as it has a lot to offer for hikers or Mountain bikers. Unspoiled nature in its full beauty!!
The bridge was built to help crossing the grand Tara Canyon. Not many people know that this canyon is the second largest canyon in the world (After Grand Canyon in USA). Unlike the Grand one - nature is different, lots of forests and the water is clear and I actually drank it a lot while rafting the canyon. The bridge is very high and the view is out of this world. Saw people using a zip line in the level of the bridge (over 170 m), base jumping or simply enjoying the coffee brake in a bar right next to the bridge. It's very close to Durmitor National park and must see view point in the area.
The Tara Canyon and Tara Bridge are beautiful and well worth the trip in to the mountains of Montenegro. The roads on the western side of Montengro from the Bay of Kotor up through Niksic and the national park are brand new and very good, so getting there is easy. There are two zipline companies operating on either side of the bridge. You can just turn up and have a go for €20 or so. They are the longest ziplines in Europe, over the deepest ravine in Europe, so pretty cool. The canyon and river itself are breathtaking, as are the surrounding mountains. We wished we had had enough time to go white water rafting, as the water is such a beautiful colour and we would have liked to have seen more than we did.
