I have found Uisce Beatha not long after they initially opened and must say was impressed from the first step inside. Warm atmosphere and friendly smiles and greetings from people I have met for the first time, not including only Brendan and Veronika, who run the place, but also from other guests or passers-by. Everybody was keen on having a chat making you feel so welcome. On the selection of food and drinks - great selection of mostly Irish, but also Scotch whiskeys and other drinks, premium beer on tap, some small snacks to go with that as well. First-time whiskey drinker? No problem here, Brendan, Veronika or regulars in the place will happily guide or advise on what to try out. All in all, a great place to visit and re-visit whenever in Bratislava!
I had the pleasure of visiting this gem and experiencing a whiskey tasting here. The staff were plesant and knowledgeable, the beers cool and refreshing and the building snug and dripping with the history of Bratislava. This bar is in a wonderful location almost hidden by the ancient city around it. Populated by interesting ex-pats and even more interesting locals this is a must visit for all.
Six of us, three couples , spent a very pleasant afternoon in Uisce Beatha. It's a lovely Irish bar with a very friendly barman/owner , Brendan.
We stopped by at Beatha with couple of friends we haven't seen for a while. The ambience is perfect, not too loud, not too quiet. Service is attentive. Whisky selection is the best in Bratislava. It's just a great place to hang out.
Have visited this small pub several times. Although tiny and dark, it has a great Irish/British ethos and serves a good selection of drinks, particularly their own stout which is delicious. Friendly people, always willing to chat. Hidden away a little in old town but worth the find.
Impecible service, variety and choice, bar management who actually make you valued and welcome (a tad on the rare side in Slovakia) and some awesome atmosphere thrown in for good measure, especially if the Slovak Shamrocks are in the house !!! Sports fixtures thrown in too, but you can't grumble about the long forgotten craft and tradition of good chit chat... Everyone always welcome! You can't miss this charming find... Say Cookie sent ya! ;-)
My boyfriend and I came here on the great reviews we saw on trip advisor. It was great to see a friendly Irishman behind the bar and some great Slovak hospitality as well. €4.10 for a large wine and pint- coming from Ireland, sure you couldn't go wrong! A must see!
Place is located in very central part of downtown. Small, cosy with extremely friendly owners. Nice range of whiskeys, good beer and they have also home made lemonades. Let the owner to guide you though world od whiskey and you will be more than satisfied.
Loved this place! Very friendly staff, spotlessly clean, very quirky. Definitely worth a visit. Fine selection of Irish whiskeys, but lovely beer if that's not your thing.
Thank God for this fantastic bar. 14 of us spent a brilliant weekend in Bratislava and watched the 6 Nations at the Uisce Beatha - only pub in town showing it. A gem of a place with a brilliant atmosphere, and super friendly owners Brendan and Veronica and a very welcoming local and ex-pat clientele. If your heading to Bratislava this pub is a must.
