Pristine nature and clean water, a great hike up to the last waterfall. Excellend in the summer when it is really hot.
This forge took a little effort for us to find but was worth the effort. It was raining for most of our hike, but still very worthwhile. Wear shoes for mud even if not raining due to the spray of the raging water through the gorge. Pack a drink and a sandwich and stop to enjoy them along the way out or back. Bring a camera--you won't be disappointed!
Don't be put off if it's closed in winter months. But obviously be careful and probably go in a group in case anything does happen. Simply duck around the barrier. Admittedly our path was impaired by a couple of huge mounds of snow but these are easy enough to dodge if you're vaguely nimble or to walk over with the right footwear (boots strongly recommended). Just take care on slippery bits etc. Our relouteness was rewarded by absolutel emptiness (we encountered about 5 other people total) and could really just relax and enjoy the awesome views (amazing landscape and crystal clear rushing water). It's about a 30/40 minute walk from Bled through some nice open green space and charming villages.
Vintgar guarantee astonishing views and transparent, cold water. Even pictures cannot fully show the beauty of this place. It is worth to wear comfortable shoes - you walk around gravel paths and wooden bridges. We spent about 3 hours in Vintgar Gorge enjoying the views and making photos.Vintgar Gorge is absolutely worth visiting.
These raging waters are well worth a visit but similar to the Partnach gorge in Garemisch Partenkirchen in Bavaria, GO EARLY to avoid the crowds
The river is gorgeous and the walk highly enjoyable. The walkways are fun and there are lots of great spots for interesting pictures. Great activity for the entire family. We thought the length of the walk (round trip) was perfect for a few hours of exercise at your own pace. The snack cabin at the end of the trail/turnaround point was a nice resting spot. Rustic WC available at this area also. The waterfall waiting for us at this end of the walk was a nice treat. Overall, a very nice attraction and a highlight of our Bled vacation. We enjoyed lunch at the Gostilna at the beginning of the trail after finishing the hike. Highly recommend.
Talk about a nature overload! It was a beautiful day full of fresh air and stunning views that words can't even explain! I wish I could explore here every day!
This is an awesome site if your in the Bled area. It is less than a half hour drive from the Lake and only a few euros to get in. Walk along the wooden path and get some good pictures of this awesome site.
I have never been somewhere so beautiful. Slovenia offers so many breathtaking views, but that being said Vintgar Gorje was the most beautiful. I have never seen water so clean. And it was right near Lake Bled, so if you're in the area look it up !
I absolutely loved visiting the Vintgar Gorge. It was wonderful. You walk along the side of it on the ledge or a slat bridge. The water is moving and splashing down below you over some very interesting rock formations. It was misty that day and, truly, this just added to its beauty! As we walked along its edge, we would duck under some stony overhang for a respite from the misty rain. Daughter and family loved it as well, especially 5 year old Aiden. You walk up one way to the end and come back on the same path. We saw a bride and groom having some wedding pictures taken over the gorge - on a slat bridge; even in the misty rain! I recommend this gorge. You will be driving through some very narrow streets to get to this area, but do not be discouraged - it is well worth it!
