For a great time go to the rodeo. Lots of action and the kids can even get involved. Pro Rodeo without the price.
We drove up from downtown San Antonio. This was our first rodeo experience. It wasn't all that expensive to get in. The beer was fairly cheep. The order riders were fun to watch, especially "Mutton busting", little Kidd trying to stay on sheep. Great fun.The food was average and the counter workers seemed clueless. However, you are there for the rodeo.
It's great to hear you're a fan of our place! We're glad you got to join us for dinner but definitely check out our BBQ sometime. Hope to have you back soon! All the best,Tom Ozene, General Manager
We visited Stockyards in Dallas last year and had the best time at the rodeo so thought we'd visit another whilst in San Antonio and this was even better! It was a fun experience from start to finish - we sat at a little spit and sawdust bar with horses tail stools before the rodeo, we chose our own seats for a fabulous show of bull riding. calf roping, barrel racing plus mutton busting and a calf scramble for the younger, budding cowboys and girls.Afterwards there was live music and dancing in the outside, barn style dance area and we decided to have something to eat at the Tejas Steakhouse, which was equally as good but there is also a food hut that does quick basket meals of meat and sides and also sells beer and other drinks. We loved every minute of our night and it only cost us $12 entry!
It's great to hear you're a fan of our place. We're so glad you enjoyed your meal and experience at our place and we hope to see you again soon! All the best,Tom Ozene, General Manager
We ate at the steakhouse first which was okay. We had the KC steaks which were a disappointment. They were edible but the flavoring was not anything great. Three of us ate there and we all had the same thing and all thought the same thing about the steaks.
It's great to hear you're a fan of our place, Nona! We're glad your daughter had some fun, too! We hope to have you and the family back soon! All the best,Tom Ozene, General Manager
Wow.. Where do I start. The highlites...Food was not top rated as some have stated.. Had to send three of five dinners back for one thing or another.. Ordered Medium Well. Got raw...Device was just not there... Come to find out it was her first night... So I don't blame her.. I Blane Mgmt for having her start on a busy weekend night.. And tobtop it off.. She had tables outside as well.. Should of had two small tables together on a Monday!!Had to wait for a table..even though we called ahead..and really was no place to wait..other than just stand around. Beer was cold!!I asked for a Mgr. Three times.. Last time I was told "he stepped out"..To top everything off.. We waited thirty minutes to pay.. They said there CC system had gone down... And asked if we had any other way to pay...REALLY?!?!?!?Just horrible experience. And we had asked three other people to come eat with us.. Just embarrassing.... The total was 200.00 for five.. And i had a better experience at the pizza place the night before...I have to say i dont think i will go back and risk paying that kinda price for poor service... Hat's off to Karen(?) The Asst. mgr.... she saved the day... even though she was over whelmmed that night with some problems... But she was the only one that cared enough to deal with us.. And was noticeably embarrassed..and ended up doing the right thing... She even said to ask for her if I came back... That was very sweet of her.. And if I ever did go back it would only because of her.. But I think it would take a bit more for me to ever try that again.. Gun Shy!!!!To be fare.. After all that..I did not do the rodeo part... So I can't comment on that. I hear it is a fun place..just never got my chance....We did talk to the Mgr as we were walking out the door.. He applogized.. But again probably to little to late..To be fare...I'm sure its not always that crazy...but it was that night..
Tejas is Texas. In one location, wonderful food, rodeo entertainment with, my favorite, mutton-busting where children compete for a belt buckle by staying on a sheep for 8-seconds. After the rodeo, there's live music and dancing. It's a little out of the way, but well worth the drive. Check it out, partner.
