I saw a comedian there on New Years Eve, good show. All seats have a pretty view. Acoustics are good.
This was my first time at the BPAC. I was very impressed. Seemed to be plenty of parking nearby. I enjoyed the Broadway Boys show. I would go back to see another show here. Not a bad seat in the house.
What a lovely facility! seating is nice, plenty of bathrooms, clean and spacious. I don't think you can ever have enough space for dressing rooms..but that was my only complaint.
You don't have to go downtown to enjoy high quality performances. Burnsville Performing Arts Center regularly schedules a variety of entertainment venues. The center is a wonderful building and convenient in the heart of the city.
The beauty was the Center! Now called the Ames Center, this is a great, intimate space to enjoy a show. We'll be watching which performers are booking at this venue!
The Ames Center is a beautiful venue but I can't help but wonder why they don't have a control room in their theaters! We saw the opening of Jekyll and Hyde and the control area was right behind the last row of seats. There was a light on during the entire performance which was very distracting to people in the back 4 rows and there seemed to be a lot of communication going on which meant someone was talking frequently throughout the show. Who puts up a beautiful venue like this and doesn't have a control room so that the production noise and distraction can all be removed from the theater goers experience? We also were sitting near Jekyll and Hyde's director and he was on his cell phone during the entire production, which was also very distracting. I agree there is probably not a bad seat for viewing the stage in the entire theater but without a control room I would avoid the back of the theater.
We just saw a great show at the Ames Center by the a capella group Home Free. They won the nationally televised TV contest show The Sing Off. It is a nice theater; especially for "south of the river" folks. Reasonably priced quality shows. Also convenient parking. ... There is a nice Mediterranean Restaurant across the street that makes for a nice evening or weekend matinee.
Beautiful community theater. Well run. Great place to watch a dance competition because there is not a bad seat in the house. lots of places close by to catch a snack or meal during your breaks. This is a gem for their community.
Highly recommend this place. It is designed so that every seat is a good seat and you can see even if someone taller sits in front of you. The spacing of the seats is comfortable. It's relaxed--you can bring your drinks and food into the theater. The whole building is new and nice. Just know that is there happens to be an A and a B version of a show, such as a Chinese Acrobat Troupe, you are going to get the B version with half the entertainers than in a more expensive venue.
The community of Burnsville, MN is lucky to have such an amazing place for concerts and various performances. There isn't a bad seat in the place. As a bonus, the trees surrounding the Burnsville Performing Arts Center are all decorated for the holiday season. Thank you Burnsville!
