This was the last stop on a 3 winery tour. They are ridiculously strict. I saw them checking bags on the way in. I do get it, they are in the business of selling wine, but they were TSA about it. They had security all over the place, and it wasn't for anyone's protection , it was to make sure you don't pour anything you didn't buy there. They have a nice selection of food available. But, with beer at $7 a cup (Yankee stadium prices) the level of security is over the top. Pindor & Duck Walk were much more open. I won't be back to baiting hollow anytime soon.
I have visited this vineyard twice and each time it was pretty entertaining. Both visits I went on a Saturday.Their location is farther out in LI than most of the wineries but in my opinion its worth the trip. Their wines to me are some of the best in the area but they are pretty costly and Ive never seen any on sale. They have horse stables on site and for a small fee you can take a guided tour. They also are one of the few wineries that offer food although its pretty expensive the options are pretty good. They boast that their merlot meatballs are famous but I didnt think they were that great. Next time I would probably bring my own food, which they do allow. They also usually have a live band playing in addition to the food for sale. It gets pretty crowded the later in the evening it gets but there was plenty of seating. They also have a smoking area which I found very helpful to me as a non smoker. I hate to sit down for a bite while choking on second hand smoke!Lovely winery to visit if you can avoid the most crowded times whihc seem to be mid summer.
If you are looking to hv fun. Drink, dance sing see some horses bring your own food and hang for a while...then great place. Young vibrant and loud. Crowded too. The wines are just average. And tastings cost you 14$ so u r buying without knowing. But most folks here are here to party with friends. So fun place but not tkg wines home from here.
I really love this winery. The wine is good, the music is good, they have great entertainment and it'd jet all around a great winery
Several Tasting Menus well worth the price. Plenty of seating and Great entertainment through out the day. We spent so much time here because the atmosphere was perfect and relaxing on a rainy day. Workers were knowledgable and excellent with choices.
Went here this past weekend while on the North Fork. I heard from a friend who had been here several years ago the wines were very good. Ill have to inform her not to go back. We walk in and it was packed. The setup was awful, and it seemed, not many wines to choose from, but because the setup was bad we didnt know if that was all they offered or if there was more. Forget about doing a tasting. Each bar (there are 2 or 3) were 4 deep with people just hanging around. There were employees walking around and no one greeted you or asked if you needed help with anything. Every other vineyard that we've been to has always greeted us or asked if we needed help no matter how crowded its been. With all the other fantastic vineyards out east we will stick with the ones we know are good. Not spending my money here. I'd advise others to do the same.
This summer was my second visit to Baiting Hollow on a wine tour and I loved it! Such a great place! This time around we were there later in the day and they had live music outside and frozen wine drinks which were great! The atmosphere here is just perfect for a relaxing afternoon having wine with friends. And the staff is so friendly! Looking forward to next year's wine tour to hit up Baiting Hollow again!
I love this winery. When I go to the north fork I always take people here. They have great entertainment, good food, great atmosphere and a great gift shop. And of course the wine is good and they have a lot of selections.
Located in a beautiful building, visited on a Sunday and got to enjoy live music by a full band. They had a huge tent to sit under, wine sold by the glass or bottle with an inside bar as well. Vendors set up selling jewelry and the like. Food for sale including hot dogs and sushi. Pretty crowded but had a great time.
Instead of the typical "come and look at our barrels" winery tour, this one gives you the opportunity to enjoy live music sitting on a shady patio. Get there early, there are lots of tour buses and bachelorette parties (the drunk ones are a great source of amusement)They have lots of Way Overpriced snacks for sale, bring your own and buy a bottle of their reasonably priced wine to enjoy with the music
